Yard Waste Question

Post by It's the Journey... »

So my wife and I are beginning our first adventure in landscaping at the new house. The first task was removing all of the ivy crawling up the chimney. We knocked that out today but it seems the city of BG does not have an option to get rid of the waste. What do any of you recommend? Thanks in advance.

BG has brush pick-up days. Perhaps the next one is close? Otherwise, I'd mix it in with your garbage and call it a day. Yes, you shouldn't do that, but oh well.

You should make some cheesy looking vine wreaths out of it and sell them at a garage sale. For about 100 hours of work, you might be able to clear about $20.

That's the great thing about living in Michigan....we just burn that crap.

My father would have called that Early American Hillbilly. In fact, he did.

He would have been 75 years old today if her were still with us.

I burn everything, but I live in the country.

The city of BG does have brush pickups, but only on specific weeks. You should be able to find info on it by calling the Public Works dept. The public works garage does have a dropoff location for leaves/grass clippings, but I'm guessing your vines are more like Brush so they shouldn't be left there.

Like somebody above mentioned, I believe the landfill has free yard waste dropoff for all wood county residents.

It's not free, but it's cheap.
