New falcon
Thought I'd come in here to post about our newest little falcon fan.
Last Thursday Tara's routine check showed a continuation of a raising blood pressure trend. They asked for some testing and am ultrasound on Friday. We followed up with that and they thought it was best to go in and induce labor that night. We went in on Friday night and and started that process. After A lot of pain and not enough progress the doc decided to do ac section and at 6:08 on Saturday evening Dexter Michael Hammer was yanked from his previous happy home and joined our world. He came in at 19.5" and 6 lb 5oz.
Thankfully he's been off the charts great from that first minute. Beautiful healthy boy.
Mom is still recovering from surgery and doing quite well also. Unfortunately her bp had stayed elevated so they're trying to get it stabilized and hopefully my new awesome family of 3 will return home tonight!
Never believed the hokey crap but it's all true... Love this little guy more than anything. Not sure when he'll make his debut but I definitely plan to have him at a tailgate and game this year. And of course we still have it season basketball tickets so he'll be at the Stroh as well.

Oh, you had a kid? Why didn't you say something?
I'm right in your boat on that last point, too. All it takes is one smile and five hours of red-faced crying is forgotten.
Pulling for good tailgate weather October 10 here!

Congratulations! I can only hope that someday I will experience that same love and joy.

Lmao! It'll probably be me still!BGFan wrote:Wait until someone offers him a hooch soaked cherry at a tailgate...
Despite my poor influence your kids seemed to turn out pretty great!
Re: New falcon
That is the game we are hoping to get him out as well. I'm tending bar at a friends wedding for the first home game.TG1996 wrote:Oh, you had a kid? Why didn't you say something?

And yeah some of us don't have the will power to keep our children state secrets!

True. I have no complaints (usually).hammb wrote:Lmao! It'll probably be me still!BGFan wrote:Wait until someone offers him a hooch soaked cherry at a tailgate...

We had some rummy bears at a party a couple of weeks ago. Thought we'd try that out at the next tailgate.

It's all about controlling the release of information, right?
We made the decision awhile ago to keep her pics off social media (partially due to my wife's job), but when she was born 3 weeks early, things were so crazy I never posted about it. Then a week later, it seemed silly to post "BTW, had a kid last Tuesday."
Besides, posting her pic online wouldn't be fair to all the kids out there that aren't nearly as adorable...
Hope to see you guys the 10th!

Thankfully our 2 week early wasn't a crazy, omg gotta get to the hospital right now event. We found out at one that we had to be there at 7:30...bought us a little time to prepare. I'm just glad he wasn't three weeks early or he wouldn't have even had an orange and brown room to return home to.
I know...it's hardly fair to the other rug rats out there for me to keep posting pics of dex.

Re: New falcon
Great news. Hope mom is ok.
The day we brought the princess home, I was more anxious than any day in my life. But you are right, no one can explain the feeling you get when you hold that baby for the first time.
Now the important stuff: Get that kid a barbecue apron and some tongs. . .

What's amazing is that those two managed to grow up into young men while we stayed the same age!Falconfreak90 wrote:Congrats Hammb!!! Enjoy every day....the Freaklings are now 19 and 16. What the hell happened?

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
