Now what other reciever do you know lately that has been able to do that. and i mean a true freshmen. and i cant believe i heard bad things about ruben on here. ruben is sweet. what other tight end do u know that cud have made the switch to reciever like he did. im telling you, if brantley is healthy he is going to be our number 1. and b jones is like a mcgradey type reciever. parks well be our number 2. partridge in the slot on the strong side and ruben in the slot on the week side. that doesnt sound to bad to me. o and if at is the guy next year, look for the offense to go back to what it was when J5 was here, more designed qb read's and draws.
Wow...it hurts my eyes. I'm going to assume this is a drunk post based on the time that it was entered. But if it's not you may want to check out this linky.

As for what you're saying I lost you when you said Rubin was sweet. He was a mediocre TE that wasn't gonna get on the field there. We moved him to WR because we run more WRs than TEs and we're short on WRs. You can line me up at WR too, just because I make the switch doesn't mean I'll be any good at it. Unless he improves upon the hands he displayed last season he won't be seeing the field much at WR.

I think Turner needs some time too, but he didn't show any signs of improvement in his three opportunities. He tends to run with the ball too much and doesn't give his receivers time to get open. He probably deserves a good shot at being QB, but 7 games might be too many if things don't go well. Hopefully, Omar will stick around and the discussion will be over. I still don't hear anyone talking about why we don't have a kicker or punter. I was shocked last February when we didn't sign people for those positions and it turned out to be a nightmare.

Well, that ought to seal the deal, then. It took J5 a lot longer than three games to get his bearings--he split time with Andy Sahm for most of a season.

And there was a lot of criticism as to why Andy Sahm was playing ahead of Josh Harris.......only because he was a senior and the coach was afraid of a controversy. Turner's ability to throw is suspect.

So was Harris' and Jacobs' as a freshman. Along with Brady Quinn, Vince Young, Tom Brady, etc.

A QB's performance his freshman year has little to do with his future performance. The jump from High school to college is the biggest in a QB's life, and nearly all of them, even the great ones, take at least a year to adjust. To write off AT at this juncture is IMO ridiculous.

Folks...if Omar leaves AT is our QB. Not for a few games or six or seven, he's the man next year. We aren't going to do any better with Van Johnson, Freddie Barnes or a true freshman. In fat, we'd do considerably worse in all likelihood

Get used to it....

Right. Urban Meyer was afraid of controversey.

Until somewhere around the Northwestern game, Josh was considered a changeup QB for a running game.

I'm stopping with this just to give us all a reality check! I can see that endowment decreasing every year and Toledo surpassing us! I hate this FACT because I have a so-called buddy that graduated from Pee U, and he never let's the fact get away from me that we just can't beat them! Academically we've got them, but the sports they have us or their catiching up to us (as far as wins and loses against them).
Chicago is fighting for the "most negative" title on this board which, to say the least, is a hard title to win around here. I got stung by being overly optimistic heading into this past season, but I don't see all doom and gloom for BGSU going forward. Of course, much depends on whether or not Jacobs goes. But, even if he does, AT will be a solid QB. I think the defense will be much better, even with the key losses. I hope for a 10-4 season which, I know, is probably unrealistic. Still, assuming that the young stars continue to develop - Briggs (I hope), Lichtensteiger, Smith, Turner, etc. - and that this year's recruiting class is strong, I don't see how BGSU has years of losing ahead.

You're exactly right, Flip. My memory failed me a little. He threw just 37 passes that year. I was thinking of his junior season, when he and Harris split time until late in the season.
