There were injuries but I dont think they were more common than drop back QBs. You have to also think immobile QBs take harder hits because they dont move out of them.
No way! Having a pocket collapse around you is much more safe than being out in the open where a linebacker of safety can get a running start at you. VIck has been hurt as much as he has been healthy during his 4 year career. He missed almost the entire 2002 or 2003 season with a leg injury.

Here is a couple of draft perspectives on Omar and VY. Sounds higher than other reports for Omar. VY blurb takes a shot at Michael Vick per our previous discussion.

Omar Jacobs, QB Bowling Green
Projected: 2nd round
Good or bad move? There was talk before the season of Jacobs being on the verge of being a better pro prospect than Matt Leinart. He was dinged up and didn't put up the numbers he did in 2004, but he still rocked when healthy. He needs work on his throwing motion and the scouts have cooled on his overall skills, but he's accurate enough to get at least a few offensive coordinators excited about his potential.

Vince Young, QB Texas
Projected: Top five pick
Good or bad move? He might be the future of the NFL. Think Michael Vick if he was a quarterback.

These were from CollegeFootballNews.com so take them with a grain of salt.[/quote]

Good little blurbs Rollo, thanks :)

I agree that Omar is about a 2nd rounder. The problem is that most 2nd Round grade QBs either find themselves rising into the late first or slipping to the 3rd/4th as there generally are not many QBs going in Round 2. Omar definitely needs a solid offseason to improve his draft stock noticeably.
