What a day!!

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Yesterday, we woke up in Huron at Mrs. Freak's parents house and it was raining. I watched Falcon Football with Gregg Brandon on FSN, and then turned on my radio for the Falcon pregame show (BTW, kudos to the whole radio team...VERY professional and upbeat from the pregame thru the post game show). Todd, I absolutely love the "TOUCHDOWN! B G S U!!" call! The boys and I pump our fists in the air when you call that.

Well, lo and behold the sun comes out so we load up the boys and head over to Cedar Point. Hammb, that Halloweekends is a BLAST! We had a great time.

Anyway, people keep looking at me funny cuz I have this earpiece for my radio and I keep yelling "TOUCHDOWN" in every ride line!
Jake and I are standing in the Matterhorn line and BG goes up 42-9!! Guys are asking me what game I'm listening to and I tell them. They are asking for scores for other games too.

I figured the best way to pass the time is to listen to the game. THANK YOU FM 99.1 in Fremont!! Cuz 1450 AM outta Sandusky had the Indians on! :( And since the Bucks were playing at night, I knew BG wouldn't get the shaft there either.

634 yards of total offense and the d held Temple to 294. This was domination...although hearing Omar throw that pick on the first series made me uneasy. The D held the Owls to a FG and that was big. I feel the biggest play of the day was with BG leading 21-9, the Owls were driving. Big Bad Brad Williams causes the fumble at the BG 20 and Devon Parks recovers. BG promptly uses 4 plays to hit paydirt and go up 28-9. GAME OVER. The Owls folded like a deck of cards.

The only area of concern was BG had 11 penalties for 105 yards. THAT must stop cuz against good teams, that will hurt us.
But overall, what a day! We stayed at Cedar Point until almost 11pm!

And the best thing of all...that was the LAST game of the year I had to miss! OK, NIU and Temple were just too far to go on the limited budgets this yr.

Josh and I will be heading up to CMU next weekend. Ahhhh....feels great to not have to miss any more games this year! Think about this....after CMU, BG will not have to leave the state of Ohio the rest of the year (4 home games and rd games at Ohio U and UT).

WAY TO GO FALCONS!!!! CRUSH THE CHIPS!!!! :partyman: :supz:

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

How about that Trail of Terror or whatever they call it. The path from the Millenium, back to frontier town? I'm assuming they still have that. It is without a doubt the best & scariest haunted "adventure" thing I've ever been to. I guess I don't know what you would call it, but I found it a helluva lot more exciting than any haunted house/haunted cornfield/maze thing I've ever been too.

Hey Freak!
Just wanted to know if had ever been to Cedar Point before. My hometown is close enough that I use to have a season pass. If you ever go again and want some tips for good parking and stuff to do there that's kind of hidden, let me know!
I loved the picture of someone in line just yelling out TOUCHDOWN! That made me laugh!
GO BG!

......I can't believe all the people that love the halloweekends so much. I feel like they are so overrated, but maybe that is my bias from working at that poopbox for so many summers.

frdmgir7,

Thanks! I've been to the Point about 20 times...our family usually went every year when I was a kid and now with the wife's parents in Huron, its very convienent. And I got to yell "TOUCHDOWN!!" 10 times....Whoo hoo!

hammb,
I loved that Halloweekend stuff! CP really goes all out on that stuff and the place was pretty crowded.
