DJ Young already making friends with the locals....
....or not.
From the Lansing State Journal...
"For Sexton defensive tackle D.J Young, it was about deciding how comfortable he felt in two vastly different-sized cities.
The recent success of Bowling Green, and Cincinnati's Big East affiliation played into his recent decision.
But Cincinnati's population is more than 300,000, including about 35,000 UC students. Minus its 29,600 Bowling Green students, that town has a population of about 9,300, and "football players mainly run the city," Young said."

First, doesn't BGSU only have around 20,000 students, and the town have the 29,600 people?Flipper wrote: Minus its 29,600 Bowling Green students, that town has a population of about 9,300, and "football players mainly run the city," Young said."
And second..... What a bizarre thing to say. He may be in for a little bit of a shock, no?

Sounds like a future problem child to me...

Actually, if he was a future problem child, he would have been undeniably drawn to UC. They hand out free crack rocks to all visiting recruits.Bleeding Orange wrote:Sounds like a future problem child to me...
I said a lot of things a lot stupider than that when I was 18. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he's caught speeding near Madison.

I don't think the kid honestly meant that the football players run the city. Does anyone honestly think that Turner, Partridge or Parks wants to map out refuse collection routes, handle inquiries regarding sewage treatment or discuss the impact on increased energy prices on the transportation budget?
I think he was simply saying that the BMOC (Big Men On Campus) are the football players and that is a situation he finds most appealing bioth mentally and spiritually...and I imagine physically as well...

Things must have changed. I was never able to have my situation physically appealed when I was there.SaxyIrishTenor wrote:Ok, seriously... Doesn't he know the band runs the city?
