Just reading through the UT final analysis, he lists:
Toledo out-recruited several Midwest BCS programs and a few Big Ten schools.
Is he exaggerating? Several Midwest BCS programs? The only BCS school from last season that he listed was WV? Sure, Iowa was a past BCS school. I hope he doesn't think Kansas, Iowa St and others are considered BCS programs. And what really is a BCS program?

I'm not taking away from the Toledo class. It looks strong, and there's usually nothing better than building a strong OL and then working down from there.

Just off the top of my head, I know one OL player received an offer from Minnesota that he didn't actually list and another player received offers from Michigan State and Wisconsin that he didn't list. I am sure there are a few others as well.

A BCS program would be a program which would be a member of a BCS conference and have a budget which would allow them to compete in said conference.

ISU, Iowa, KS, KState, NW, UofI et al are examples of BCS programs.

BG's breakdown is up. It seems as though he was kind of lazy and didn't have much to say about the players, compared to other teams. Not his best work. I thought he would give a better breakdown of PJ Mahone.

Sheehan can throw the ball 70 yards in the air? At 6-3, 210 and with that arm strength? Wow! Though watching the video on him it looked as though it took him a while to get the ball out of his hand. Something I'm sure he can work on.

I think it's hard-wired to the alarm that goes off in rf's house when anything remotely concerning Toledo is brought up. :)
Or it could be the alarm that has a picture of Dilbert on it and goes off everytime Al Gore (he invented the Internet you know  ) discovers another factless post by factman.

Damn.....it just went off again about 2 minutes ago.

ESPN smartest sports people in the world

Post by YoeyCC »

ESPN has us rated #2 behind Western Michigan and with all the information they have on sports I trust them the most. Screw any other rating, because we got a good class and for the first time in about 2 years. The last few years we've been looking for Athletes and not people at the right positions. This year we didn't go the QB best athlete route and got a good looking class. Watching the video on recruiting I am looking forward to Jahmal Brown. Some of his runs were Reggie Bushesque, watch the video and tell me I'm wrong.

This is funny and I did literally laugh out loud. For the week around signing day, I read this statement on all of the fan boards that I check out. The strange thing is that not every board had the same favorite source for rankings of the MAC classes, but strangely enough, the favorite source on each board always seemed to be the one that ranked their class the highest.

Personally, I am very happy my team's class. I don't care if one site has that class as the worst in the MAC or the best. I just like how I perceive the talent to be, based on the stats, accolades, measurables, and video highlights. Who cares what some sites think of your class as long as the coaches feel that it's the best they could have done and you're happy with it.

Thanks for the laugh though.
UT is listed in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili as one of the U.S. schools with the “Most Beautiful Urban Campus.”
