Looks like a pretty solid pickup athletically, the skeptical side of me wonders why an All-State receiver from Florida didn't sign on LOI day.

Any insight from our new-found friends in the Sunshine State? :D

Maybe he just got a qualifying ACT/SAT score....

I found this scouting report on him from Rivals report on the ClaiFlorida all star game (Florida's top kids play Cali's top kids) and practices this year.

"The biggest sleeper to step foot at the annual all-star game was Charles, who made some outstanding catches and really performed solidly all week.

Some leaping grabs were made and he looked solid out on the field with this very high tempo offense.

Even some overthrown balls were snatched with ease by Charles, who should see his offer count go from zero on up in a hurry after this week. "

He's listed at 4.47 in the 40 and has been called one of the fastest players in Florida

At this point in time, I will answer my own question - "Charles Sharon" :D :

5'10" 168lbs? Sounds like a cornerback to me! Hope he's as good as or better than Sharon! WE NEED IT BAD, and not some troop that didn't get picked up from a school he wanted to go to.

A DB with a 4.46 40 time? HA! Put the kid on the line of scrimmage and let him outrun everyone! Height doesn't mean sh!t when no one is around you to defend you!

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=1782364

from scout.com:
One of the state's fastest players, Charles has big time speed and uses it as one of the top sprinters in Polk County. As a junior last season, he finished the season with 24 catches for 500 yards and five touchdowns. His speed and route-running ability are his two best qualities on the field and he's been an excellent student throughout his high school career.

From Miami Hurricane article at http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_co ... as_gi.html

Zach Charles from Winter Haven High School is one of the best recievers in Florida right now in my point of view after seeing him on the football field plenty of time, this kid speed and mental strength really brings High School football to a whole new level, with his ability to beat his competitors down to field just makes him a wonderful talent to watch. THIS KID WILL GO FAR

This guy looks like a super sleeper and i love our recruiting class this year, its stacked with size and speed. oh yeah, go falcons!!!!!

Excellent point. We make our living discovering and developing players the big schools overlook. If we got him on the rebound, I'm OK with that.

This guy sounds a lot like Omar. He wanted to go to one of the big 3 Florida, they all passed on him, now he is going to come here with a chip on his shoulder with something to prove. He sounds really great and they probably only passes on him because he was too short.
