Coach Brandon said that Omar is playing better than Josh right now. When a reporter followed up by asking if he meant Josh as a Soph. or Josh last year, he said that was speculation, which was odd since he brought it up.
No question, Omar is playing well. But a few times, Coach Brandon has mentioned that Omar is missing reads, and they are putting a lot onto him, etc. I'm not exactly sure how much he's missing--he seems to be clicking OK to me. He's got a great arm, hasn't had passes blocked too much since the OU game, and today was our leading rusher.
I just wonder what they are expecting him to do. But I do know this. If he stays healthy, its going to be a great three years.

There were a couple times where he had a receiver open downfield at 10-12 yards and he threw it off his right foot and badly short-hopped the ball. He also missed Pope in the first half (mainly due to the wind) that would have been a big-gainer. I know it's getting nit-picky, but with how great he has been, these are the only things I think he can improve on. He didn't complete a deep ball yesterday, but I thought he threw them quite well. He had Sanders open, but the wind carried it about 3 yards too far in the first half and I think he played for more wind on a throw to Sharon in the second half. It was slightly underthrown and Sharon got it knocked out of his hands. We're going to have a really hard time finding something this guy can improve on in 2 years. I don't think he is playing as well as Josh last year, but he is light years ahead of Josh as a soph. and junior.
Omar is 2nd in the nation in total offense. The NCAA site has all the stats listed.

The defensive rankings aren't too pretty right now, though.
