UCF was so close, but yet so far away from NIU
Man how I wish UCF would have been able to hold on and beat NIU tonight! A NIU loss coupled with BG's win today would have pulled us even with NIU in the standings - although we'd still be lagging due to head-to-head. But if UCF would have won, we'd only need NIU to lose once more and win out to pass them up. Now, BG is still left with having to win out and still needing NIU to lose twice. That really puts a damper on my mood tonight. If NIU's last second FG would have missed, this board would have been jumping with chatter! Oh well......
GO BG!!!

Collegefootballnews.com ranks UCF as the worst team in D 1-A and 8 of the bottom 13 are the MAC cellar dwellers.

I'm still trying to figure out how in the heck we rolled into NIU this year not prepared to face what we came head-to-head with? After what happened last time we were in Dekalb and playing a tough team on the road that was picked in front of us on nearly every preseason poll and publication, how weren't we ready? I think last year's win over NIU gave us a false sense of security this season out there. I really wish we could play them over again.
GO BG!!!
To me it was encouraging to see UCF almost beat them. UCF has been horrible this year getting blownout in every game including Buffalo. NIU isn't going have the cakewalk to go 7-1 in the mac like everyone thinks they do. They happened to play their best game of the season on our worst. The NIU game seemed to be what this team needed. Anyone notice how we destroyed temple but they came back this week and only lost to Pitt 27-22?
