The Redskins have re-signed linebacker and special teams leader Khary Campbell, the team announced on Tuesday.
In two seasons with the Redskins, Campbell has proven to be a valuable special teams player and solid backup at linebacker. He had entered the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

The 6-1, 230-pounder played in 15 games last season and led the team with 34 special teams tackles. On defense, he added nine tackles (seven solo).

Campbell was selected as the Redskins' recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award last season after he coming back from a knee injury in 2004. That season, Campbell logged 20 special teams tackles, third-best on the team, before suffering the injury in Week 9.

Campbell played his first two seasons with the New York Jets. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2002. He played his college ball at Bowling Green.
