QB:Spring positional Analysis

Post by Germainfitch1 »

Anyone interested in doing an in depth look at the team position by position.

I think it would be nice to share insight and layout the roster for next year.....

Very Young Group:

Anthony Turner So(r) 6-2 226 Likely heir
Freddie Barnes Fr (r) 6-2 185 I heard he was moving positions? DB?
Tony Hunter Fr (r) 6-1 205 Walk on right?

Recruit: (both should be redshirted)
Anthony Glaud Fr 6-3 216
Tyler Sheehan Fr 6-3 210

This is the single biggest question mark for this team, IMO, followed closely by WR. There appears to be a great deal of talent here, but there are big shoes to fill and all of these guys have an awful lot to prove.

If Glaud is as good as advertised, I wouldn't be surprised for at least one of these guys to be moved to another position.

I didn't realize that Turner was that much bigger than Barnes. I'm really looking forward to watching Barnes play in a couple weeks. You can't really judge the kid based on how he slings it in warmups. If Turner is suspended for the Wisky game, he has an opportunity to step up and potentially win the job.

I'm not as concerned about Turner as some are. Sure he didn't look great last year, but he wasn't given much of a chance in those games. I don't think we'll see a huge year like Omar's soph. year or the end of J5's soph. year, but I think we'll be well above average in the MAC at QB.

They're young, but talented. Inexperience is big but I feel AT, as long as his head is screwed on right, will be a heck of a QB. I also can't wait to see Barnes. Hunter is from down my way in Coshocton and went to River View HS.

Sheehan and Glaud? They sound like exceptional talents but we won't know for a while. Both have nice height.

At this point, it's AT's job to lose.
