I don't know how many times its been said, but I'll say it again...It's freaking football weather and it get's like this all around Ohio. Not just NW Ohio. It get's cold in the fall and winter... Suck it up.
Some of you on here act like you're die hard Falcon fans but when it comes down to it you say you want to leave a game because it was boring that we were winning by a lot? Give me a break. A lot of people on here just come to complain about stuff. If we lose then starts two weeks of complaining and the world is coming to an end. When we win it's complaining that it was a blowout. It's a no win situation with many of you.
Good, Bad, Weather, Attendance, Sorry

I thought we would break the record. It looks like that was too optimisticc. Hearing the crowd was that small really put a damper on the whole game experience for me.hammb wrote:People said we were on pace for a record attendance average this year, and I still believe that our home schedule will ensure we won't get that record.
Our average is just under 20,000 -- which is what it was for last year's regular season.
I think we can maintain that. We still have Marshall coming. I still think that game sells out.
I'd argue the problem was the weather much more than the opponent. We had 23,000 for stinking SEMO. I think we would have had 23,000 for Ball State with good weather -- and we would still be on pace to break the school record.
I think it was a combination of the two Schad. We had to know that at least one game was going to be played in bad weather, especially with our schedule backloaded with so few home games the first month of the season.
I think that we would've had a good crowd Saturday if we had played NIU, UT, Miami, or Marshall. I think we would've had a good crowd Saturday with beautiful weather. It is the combination of the poor team and the poor weather that ruined the attendance for Saturday's game.
I think, like you, that the Marshall game will be packed. If not a sellout should be 25k+ Our season long attendance figure will be determined by the weather for the EMU & WMU games. Those teams are looking to be pretty bad right now, so if it is more inclimate weather I would be surprised to see the fans out in droves. Hopefully they'll be nice days and we'll pull in a good total season figure.
It just stinks that our schedule at home is against such poor teams this year that we have to rely on the weather to determine our total attendance figures.

Being one of the die hards that stays to the end of every game, all I can say is it was mid October in BG. Yeah the weather wasn't great but it could have been a lot worse! Ohio, October? Sometimes ya get lucky, other times not. At any rate, I look forward to each and every game and never leave early no matter what.
I gotta say it was one of the best Tailgate sessions in a while! Hammb, your deep fried pizza rolls ROCK!!!! Great seeing Lord Byron and his family who made the trip from NY. All the regulars were there and there were TWO, not one but TWO porta johns!!
And no stinking garbage cans. My bud Mark and I grilled after the game with Falcon Fanantic and BG Fan...dude, don't eat chili again like that!!! DAMN!!
17,000 was a disgrace but in years past, a day with weather like that would have drawn 8 or 9k. It will take some more time but we ARE making progress. The only bad thing is for EMU, I can't tailgate! The Freaklings will be T OR T at their Grandma's that day until 3 so we gotta high tail it from North Ridgeville to BG! I think I'll use that parking pass and just park in the South End zone lot. I hope we can be there by 4:30.
On to Ohio....we'll see ya'll down in Athens! Right now, forecast is partly cloudy and 72!

Well some of my friends I came with didn't want to go sit in the rain and wind. WTF! You can stand in the rain and tailgate. They said they would rather go to the bar and watch the OSU game. AS I think was the case for most people because they said the bar was packed and it was a smoke pit. Suckers! OSU is pathetic. I'll take hurricane conditions and BG football over OSU anyday. OSU is finally getting whats been coming to them for awhile. You can only win like they had been for so long.
Considering past games with bad weather 17k was not bad. I think many of us remember the EMU game in 2002 and the kent game last year. For every person there was ten empty seats. The bad weather kept a lot of people from going. Still sucks. They played a heck of gameFalconfreak90 wrote:
