That is sad to read or think about but I'll agree if you get rid of OSU and add a better teamBGSUfanatUT wrote:We could go undefeated, with Oklahoma, Florida state, Miami, Ohio state as our OOC games each year, and there would be no way we would get anything.
First BCS standings released!!

I don't think the national media understands how good many of the "mid-majors" are...I think last year, BGSU took out two Big 10 schools and a Big 12 school....yet, when it comes to national media...no love...I hate it because I think the mid-majors are better than the credit they receive...I think out of the teams we've played so far, Texas was our toughest test, with yall coming in at second...that is something people don't get...the MAC is tough (not just Turdledo, Marshall, NIU, the teams who seem to be getting a lot of respect lately)...oh well, let the national media think what they want...they'll see soon enough how good BGSU is...

Metz, i just threw in the suckeyes b/c everyone thinks they are the greatest team ever, and beating them, even a year they go winless, is though of as a better win than beating an undefeated say, boise state in the final game of the season.
Yeah, and texas doesnt count for "toughness' ranking against you guys, b/c its a rivalry game. Toledo will be a harder fought game that down in Narman was for us, jsut b/c of the rivalry factor, and its obvious that you are a MUCH better team. The fact that we stood up to you guys, and played at the same level the whole game is automatically taken as OU weakness and not BG strength. and that is wrong. Seriously, what had better odds: OU having a crappy season and struggling to beat MAC schools, or BG having a good season and playing at the same level as the top programs? sportscasters are retards.

BCS
OU can thank Sagarin for this. Sagarin is the only reason we're number 3.

ill give you that, at the same time though, if all those teams continue to win, you will pass them. PLus, at least you arent behind any teams that are really undeserving of such a high rank, i wouls say Tenn would be the most out of place there.

Yeah, I have to say you guys got the shaft down there! Just keep winning though and you guys will be golden. However, one loss and you will be behind all of those teams when the season ends.SoonersEnFuego wrote:He has us ranked behind Miami, USC, Auburn, Florida State, Wisconsin, Utah, Tennessee, Boise State, and Louisville.
Huge load of crap.

You shouldn't make assumptions, it's leads to bad things

Well I'm a firm believer that as long as your opponent and the fans of your opponent respect the effort your team brings to the table then the talking heads can bugger off. I mean if the heads had even bothered to take a look at BGSU they'd see that Oklahoma held you to your second lowest scoring output of the season, and it would have been the lowest had the offense not semi self destructed during the NIU game for a huge chunk of the game in the middle, but that part is neither here nor there.
The problem with the heads and the 'mid-majors' is twofold I think..one, a midmajor has to be undefeated for practically the entire season to get any props out of these guys, and then when they do the Trev Alberts' of the world will go on and on about how the same team w/ the same talent wouldn't have as good a record in a BCS conference if they were in there...not taking into account that if those teams were in a BCS conference, they'd likely be able to get not necessarily better talent, but have a better shot at getting better backup talent to go with the talent they've already got.

If those were all road games, you'd get huge run as the premiere bcs buster, and everyone would forget boise state and their horrid blue field.quote: Originally posted by BGSUfanatUT:

As sad as it is, you are probably right. The MAC gets no love...even if we became the "BCS Buster."BGSUfanatUT wrote:nope, we would get a total of 15 votes in the polls, and go to the GMAC bowl.
