hey if jake delhomme went undrafted and to europe and is now one of the most clutch qb's in the nfl then josh can do it. You always gotta stay positive.

I'm glad that this thread has gotten some attention. However, if I may make a request.....please vote.

I put a poll on the thread for a reason. Right now, I'm ready to photocopy my middle finger and send it to Tom Coughlin.

To top if off, I'm a Jaguars fan, and the guy sucked there too.

So please, join in the voting. I promise you won't regret it.

Thank you.

Go Falcons!

I don't think the voting is going to do much. This is a BG Web site, of course we're going to be disappointed. If this was a national poll I doubt it would be the same response.

I don't follow pro football (or any football but the MAC) much but I would be stunned to learn that anybody is getting $3 million or more (at least 3 to qualify for a few) to play in Europe, when backups here aren't making that. Is that anywhere near accurate?

I think the reference is that if it leads to a successful career, there are a few millions available then.

given J5 is unproven as an NFL qb this does suck, but we all saw it coming they had a ple of QBs and odds are they will drop one more.
Taht said there are still teams out there with some ???? and I could see j5 hooking up with one of these teams. Dream team for me would be Atlanta, because I think the play style of Vick and J5 complement each other, but I dont see that happening.
he will get a shot somewhere this preseason.

sorry but atlanta's set with vick, schaub, and dj shockley, i think dj shockley will be the steal of this draft. He has the wheels of vince young but with a better arm. If shockley didnt get hurt last year georgia might have gone undefeated.

Depending on how bad he really did at camp last season, the Browns would be a good team to give him a look. They really have nothing after Frye. And Josh was there last season and should already know the system. If they don't give him a call, well, I think the handwriting is on the proverbial wall.

As much as it pains me to say, I don't think J5 would've been cut last year if they truly thought he had much long term potential. At this point NFL teams don't think he's a worthwhile backup right now, and he's getting too old to be a project guy on the roster. His best best is to play somewhere (Canada, Europe, AFL,...ANYWHERE). If he shows that he can play at a top level in one of those other leagues he'll get more shots at the NFL (see: Garcia, Jeff; Delhomme, Jake; Warner, Kurt; Maddox, Tommy).

At this point I really think the best thing for his career is likely to get a starting gig in one of those other leagues and actually play in games. Battling in training camp is nice, but the 4th/5th QBs on the depth chart are NOT getting many reps in camp. Other than some cameos in preseason he has really not gotten much playing time at all in since the 2003 season...that's quite awhile ago now. Going into camp at the bottom of the depth chart is not going to help him get better and improve like he needs to, since the #1 & #2 guys are going to be getting 90% of the camp reps.

I think that Josh Harris will make his living as a professional football player. IMO his best bet is to go to Europe, try to get some minutes and try to get back int he NFL where the most money can be made. Coming from the system he did and being the athlete he is, he needs every opportunity to take snaps under center in game situations.

If the opportunities are not there to play in Europe or in the NFL I would head to Columbus first to see if the AFL is where he fits. I feelt that with the proximity to his hs and college and with his athletic ability and charisma he could be a fairly big star in Columbus and the face of the Franchise. I am not sure who pays more, but I would go to the AFL before the CFL. Dependent on the pay and his family life I would choose the league that fits him best.

IMO football should be his life, he was on the radio being interviewed in Columbus the other day and he was very candide and well spoken. I am pretty sure he was a great leader at BG too. Coaching or the broadcast booth should be in his future. He is well liked and well spoken. If I were him, I would get as much football experience in as many situations as possible, exhaust every opportunity and then go to the booth or the coaching staff....He would have that much more knowledge to work with.

Good luck J5.

I've always imagined Josh as a coach somewhere, maybe even back at BG. He has so much knowledge of the game that he could pass on. If it's something he ends up pursuing, I think he'd be great at it and I know we'd be lucky to have him back at BG.

I wonder how his wife and little future Heisman winner are doing.

The Steelers seem to think all African-American QBs can play multiple positions. Maybe Josh could play QB/RB/TE/WR with Omar in the Steel City?

I'd take him and slash him up.
