I had a chat today with some university folks who have knowledge of the project, and there was a costly error made. It seems the crew didn't follow the specs correctly. With having to go back, they are about three weeks behind, but should soon start to work 6 days a week to get back on schedule

Screw you! The only error made was when you were born!
Can we fix it?

Yes we can!

Plus there's some rough-in stuff popping up from conduits out of the ground, perhaps there was a wall built before the stuff was roughed-in... who knows... who cares? :-) It'll get done eventually!
I think the cables are just a temporary support. Either a welded or bolted joint would be used in this condition.

Just wait until they bring in the load of legos and popsicle sticks to finish the roof.

My guess is... and Tech can either back me up or berate me on this... that the cables are merely a safety mechanism until more support work can be completed.

Right. He did say they were probably temporary.

I must have missed that part on the re-read. My head was shaking back and forth rather violently after reading falconboy's thoughts.

That type of coordination can only come from having 17 children. I'm cool. :-D

Yep.... I'm preety sure they are just trying not to disassemble everything and the cables can hold the beam until final connections are made......

I carry a hard hat in my car at all times. I should have tried to get onto the job site the week I was in BG.

What kind of stupid remark is this?

USGFreddie has more knowledge of this project than you will ever have. His family has given a significant amount to this project (and numerous others on campus) and has a little more inside info. I trust his knowledge more than I do yours or anyone else, sans the architect who posted his comments, on this topic.

If you don't trust USGFreddie, then get off your lazy ass and call someone at the university to find out. Its stupid uninformed comments like yours that often make this site, and many others, a joke.

Since I have a child, I found more humor in Bob the Builder's post than insult - especiialy after looking up the ip.

There was abosultely no sincerity in those words.

I have it under good authority that the Architect and his draftsman (er horse) did not make any mistakes in designing this project.
