Does anybody know who a DE #94 is? Supposed to be a redshirt freshman and they have him rated as one of our best D lineman. Anybody have any clue? I can't think of it for the life of me. Also, has anybody figured out how to create players on the 360 version? I want to get our freshman class in there.
I would also like to know why EA thinks AT is a southpaw. Maybe he's learned to throw with both hands this offseason so he can throw two balls at one time.

Roll Along!
I think #94 is Trevor Frericks. He has switched numbers this year based on bgsufalcons.com. His rating jumped out at me, so I looked it up last night.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Does anybody know who a DE #94 is? I'm not sure who DE #94 is. I downloaded the rosters last night, I'll give it a look and see who the roster guy called himJacobs4Heisman wrote:Does anybody know who a DE #94 is? You can create players, but you must do it before you start your dynasty. The way to do it is from the main menu go into MY NCAA or something like that, then under that is rosters. In the rosters section you can create players. Create/name all the players you want, then save the roster file. After saving the roster file, start your dynasty.
I couldn't find the stupid transfer kit, but EB games in Findlay had the roster file for download onto your memory card for free. So I drove down there yesterday and put the fully named roster onto my card. I then edited the two kickers because I wanted our true freshmen kickers, not the other guys who are pretty awful in the game. I gave 'em a few extra points as well. I also created DJ Young. I looked at the recruiting rankings from scout and looked up similar players. There was another similar DT that went to UM that was in the game, so I made DJ a couple points worse than him. I didn't bother with any of our other recruits though.
As for AT, I'm pretty sure he was a lefty in last year's game as well. When you're in the rosters area you can switch him to right handed, which I did as well.
I played 2 games of my Dynasty and beat Wisconsin & Buffalo. The game is pretty sweet. Our playbook really is pretty crappy, IMO, the only decent running plays are the option plays. I have gotten Macon over 100 yards in both games, but he busted off a 70+ run on an option in both games as well. Maybe it's just our OL, but straight up run plays are tough for our team.

To Turn In-Game Pop Ups Off
From the Pause menu select Settings then Visuals. Highlight PrePlayInstructions and toggle it to Off. That gets rid of the annoying pop-ups.
By the way I enjoy using the BG playbook in the PS2 version. Very realistic to the real life offense.

Holy CRAP!
Do NOT underrate the momentum meter in this game.
I was playing my dynasty last evening and I rolled out to a 5-0 start. Unfortunately halfway through the 5th game (Ohio) Anthony Turner got drilled on an option and broke his collarbone; out 6 weeks. So now I'm walking into OSU with my backup QB. On the 3rd play from scrimmage Deaudre Perry goes up high for the user pick, he gets nailed and fumbles. Kenny Lewis picks it up and takes it to the house for a quick 7-0 lead, and all sorts of momentum. I rode that momentum and a conservative offensive approach to a 24-14 win.
Then I go back to the Doyt and have Eastern coming into town. I've got a QB coming in for a visit that I was hoping to land, so it's a big game. Eastern returns the opening kickoff out past the 50, and ends up stalling, but making a 52 yard FG. My next drive stalled and they hit a bomb for a TD and a full momentum meter. I promptly threw an int, and the rout was on. I lost my 6-0 start (with wins over UW & OSU) to Eastern MICHIGAN!?!? I ended uplosing 49-18!
The momentum definitely plays a realistic role in this game, and I really like it. Big plays swing the momentum and can turn around entire games.

I'll tell you what. Defense is tough to play on this years version so far. Last version I was able to hold people to under 20 points a game on line. and I could usually shut out the computer.
I have been OSU, USC, Texas, ND, LSU and a few other top 25 teams (going for the win with all top 25 teams trophy) Every game is a shoot out. Pass D is hard, the defensive playbooks are a lot different I had the playbooks memorized last year. I have not found all of the plays I need yet. Its going to take some getting used to..
Kicking is dificult as well. No matter how I do it i get just OK or good kicks, can not get it in the end zone, can not get an excellent kick.
I do not like the third person view for returning kicks though. IT is so much tougher than it used to be. you cant see anything. Is there a way to turn the players head while running with the ball in third person? how can you see people comming from the side to avoid them?

You mean first person, the games have always been made in third person. I havn't played this one yet and I don't have a system so I probably never will, but I think it would be kind of neat to see things from the first person standpoint.tekekini wrote:I'll tell you what. Yeah right girl!
Oorah!

Neat, yes. Confusing as hell and tough to play the game? Definitely. The Niz wrote:tekekini wrote:but I think it would be kind of neat to see things from the first person standpoint.
I don't have this version, but knowing what these guys are talking about with the "in the helmet view", it certainly adds a whole new skill to things.
"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."

What skill level do you all play it on? I play it on Varsity and was wondering if I am making it too easy on myself. A lot of times you can just throw it deep and someone goes up and catches it. Also, if you practice on somethin during the season does that help improve your players or is it only the spring drills in the off season that help improve them?
I made a 52 yd. fg with Big Bird. I changed the kickers to Ellis and Rojas and gave them the ratings of the Athlon preseason all Sun Belt Kickers but then I took 3 pts. off of each kick skill, they still are better than the returning BG players.

VARSITY!?!? C'mon man, get with the times! If you've ever played NCAA or Madden at all in your life Varsity should be too ridiculously easy.Dayons_Den wrote:What skill level do you all play it on? I play it on Varsity and was wondering if I am making it too easy on myself. .
Right now I'm playing on All American because BG's team is crappy right now. After I can build them up a little with some new recruting classes I'll be playing Heisman.

I play on All-American also, with some sliders adjusted.
As far as the kick returning goes, it's not actually first person, it's just a different third-person camera angle than what one is typically used to. It's low, to the ground, and right behind the returning player, which cuts off peripheral vision and makes cut backs harder. It also makes it harder to see where your blockers are. But you still see the physical player you're running with on screen. It's difficult, but more fun than the old way.
