That would make sense. Set the redshirt issue aside, can he come back in 2007 as a junior?

First, he has to stay in school and get eligible again.

I see the real possibility of him being in the rb rotation this year. He's got mad running skills from what I've read.

As far as eligibility goes, you get 5 years to play 4, and the clock starts ticking the minute you attend college. That clock is running if you are eligible or not, playing a sport or not. I'm about 90% sure that is the rule, though there have been "fifth" years given to players for special circumstances (medical I believe) in the past.

I think he will be able to come back, even if he leaves the university. I remember Julius Jones having similar troubles at ND. He went down to Zona and spent time with his brother Thomas Jones and then came back. He had a huge senior year at ND and went on to get drafted in the 1st round I believe by the Cowgirls aka THE TUNA!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I sure hope so. It's about time we started funneling some premium athletes onto the defensive side of the ball.

You never know...Macon was going to be a LB until drills started in the fall.

Thomas could come back and play if his academics are in order. Truthfully, our track record for guys overcoming academic issues isn't all that great so I'm not betting on it.

Mahone is a hell of a RB....Macon, Winny and Bullock for now. I say give Mahone or Brown a shot at RB if needed.
