I think the Ohio game was a perfect example of this. The team seemed to respond as they came out onto to the field for both halves to the cheers and I think several times during the game the team/sideline acknowledged fams and/or asked for support. I had no idea where the team even came from locker roomwise, but I was just standing right there when they came out for the second half. Every player handles himself a little differently, but our small party hollered a few encouraging words the team's way and several players acknowledged it immediately.
This may seem small to some, but I think the players (and coaches) very much appreciate this sometimes small (depending on distance) but vocal support on the road. Congratulations to all the fans who made the trip; great job all the way by everybody!
Also in recruiting news, our WR commit from Springfield South Luke Alexander leads the Great Western Ohio Conference in receiving (14 team 2 division big school league). Coming into the Oct. 22 night's game, he had 44 catches for 8 TD's and 21.5 yards per catch. His is a well balanced WR team also as St. Bonaventure bball recruit Nate Miller has similar numbers. I think after a redshirt year, this young man can help.
Lastly, I am told by a very reliable source that we have 11 firm verbal commitments in football as of today- more than any year in recent history (or perhaps any year).
And who knows how many of those 30 recruits Ohio University had in today will now commit to BG
Go Falcons!
