That is a great pick of CP.

Dan Macon mentioned that the offense will be high-speed, no huddle, go-go-go.....I can't remember his exact words.

I will say that I am a believer in time of possession. I guess I understand that no huddle offense tends to keep defenses off balance. However, I do believe that our high speed offense has its drawbacks. We all agree that we struggle on defense, or at least most of us do. There are a lot of opinions on this matter.

One of my opinions is that our offense wasn't taking enough time off the clock. I'm not attributing all of our defensive problems to this, but I do think it contributes.

I love Omar Jacobs, don't get me wrong. However, Josh Harris took a lot of time off the clock when he tucked the ball down and ran. He helped give our defense more time to rest. He gave our defensive coaches more time to instruct players and make adjustments (not that I'm arguing that they did a wonderful job making adjustments, but rather making the point that they had more opportunity).

I think you can make the argument that Omar lead the most potent passing threat that BGSU has ever seen. Our football team scored quickly, and often. It isn't the OFTEN part that concerns me, it is the quickly part that does. I think our defense needs more time to rest than it has been getting. It, by far, isn't the only reason our defense struggled, but sure didn't help.

Having said that, all indications are that our offense WILL have a more comprehensive ground game this year. I'm optimistic that it will help. Let's all hope this is true.

Go Falcons!

mmisbg: Have to agree with you. If the offense is go-go-go, that means our defense will be on the field more quickly. And no matter how much improvement we see over last year, we don't have the depth on defense to spend a lot of time on the field.
