Wisconsin tickets sold?

Post by factman »

Has anyone heard how many tickets Wisconsin has sold for Saturday's game?
I "heard" today that they had only purchased 2,000 so far, which was far below what was expected. I thought Wisconsin traveled well! If that is the case, we had more people travel to Wisconsin than they will have in Cleveland!!

God I hope we beat these SOB's. I realize that every school has their share of idiots, but no one has ever given me a reasonable explanation as to why the Big 11 has so dang many of them...

Sounds like Scott is saying "we will get to 30,000."

That's too bad. I was hoping to push well past that.

BO,

I stopped reading after that sentence about "lack of quality opponent". What an idiotic thing to say....but we should be used to from Big Ten fans.

Lack of quality opponent. Let's see what he says after Saturday night.

I still look to get 40,000 at this game. The weather is shaping up very nicely. IF Wisky only sold 2,000 tickets, I'll be stunned. They usually travel very well. But, we suck and aren't a quality opponent. ;-)

I asked this question in another thread on the Badger board. They said a lot of the fans have soured on buying tickets through the school so a lot of them scalp, walk up, or buy club seats through another source. They are confident they will bring over 10,000 to Cleveland.

I read that CBS is expecting to see 45000 + at this point for the game, and that 50k+ would not be to much of a stretch based upon ticket inqueries from various groups and ORGs that will be intown for various other events being held during the day.

another item of note, since we missed our 15k avg last year by what 70 seats a game and recieved our letter of notice from the WORTHLESS org known as the NCAA ie pissboy to the BCS monopoly, that the Univ is expecting 40k+ for the game.

Where are you seeing this?

I'm referring to a short item in one of the Wisconsin papers that quotes our ticket manager. Follow the link at the top of this thread, and then click on the link at the start of that thread on a Wisconsin board.

The 45k+ info etc came from a CBS quote I revieced via email that speculated this based on schools sales, ticket master sales and inquieries at CBS.
the ncaa letter info to BGSU was in the USA today, yesterday if memory serves me right, and BGSU was quoted for saying that based on this games attendance alone we will have nothing to worry about. the same article went on to illustrate that temple will be playing more D2 schoolls near by to boost thier numbers.

I do have to give Wisky fans this: They have everything to lose this saturday.

For as high as some of the polls have them, and for as much bragging as they are doing.....anything short of a complete and total blowout will be considered a loss for them. If the game is close, people will say, "yeah, but BG is rebuilding, and you shouldn't be losing to a MAC school anyway." If BG pulls off an upset, their fans will be running like a pack of constipated wiener dogs.

Hopefully it turns out to at least be one of the latter two scenarios.

Go Falcons!

From the Wisconsin State Journal today:

"Bowling Green officials are hoping for a crowd in excess of 30,000 at Cleveland Browns Stadium, but acknowledge it will take good walk-up sales the day of the game to reach that total."

With bad weather possibly looming, walk-up sales might be low. If we don't get more than 30,000 for this game, it will be a shame that we didn't play this game in the Doyt where we "could" have packed it.

Hey, just be glad you aren't a season ticket holder. I have awesome seats in the Doyt, and I'm in the endzone in Cleveland. Some home game this is.
