BG gets some bowl love...

Pat Forde of ESPN.com predicts that BG will play BYU in the Emerald Bowl. I know its early, but it is always fun to talk about it.

They can't seem to agree who will wind up in that bowl. Isn't that game the former Aloha Bowl, or some other game they had out there?

I don't see UT beating Miami or NIU on the road, and I think their games against Ohio and CMU did a lot to illustrate how to beat them in their own stadium. So assuming we can take care of our own business, we aren't going to likely win a title, but I can deal with it, so long as the Falcons are in a bowl.

And wait until next year, with three MAC bowl bids, and if it is as wacky a season as this one, four or five MAC teams could be in a game.

Predict that for the MAC in 1992 and they'd have locked you up in a padded room.

Forde has 3 MAC teams picked... all from the West. As much as I like it, seems unlikely that they would finally take 3 MAC teams, and the East winner is not one of them. But I like what i see.

The Emerald is in CA? do'h! Thats gonna hurt Shu's wallet.

I don't know if playing BYU would be that great of a game though. To me, they are a very inconsistent team when it comes to showing up for football games. Still though, a bowl game is a bowl game and I'll be there if we make one!!

If we get in a bowl game, I don't care who we play. Them showing up is their own problem. A good football game is good, or blowing out a WAC team would be fine too.

yeah, any bowl game is fine by me. And if the MAC gets 3, then we can finally be part of that conference bowl challenge crap that we always get screwed on b/c we go 2-0 but you need 3 games to be considered for it.

I'll take any bowl at this point! To be honest, playing outside of the Motor Ciry or GMAC Bowl would be extremely exciting to me! Think about it, we've always in line to play in the MCB Bowl or the GMAC Bowl, it would be awesome to have a chance to go play out West! I'd do everything in my power to go!

Not that we could control it, but I bet Brandon would prefer a bowl game in Texas. Since we are starting to recruit there, it would be a HUGE help if we could showcase ourselves in a bowl game there. I hope Paul Krebs is whispering this in Chryst's ear. The Fort Worth Bowl is a realistic possibility.

I'll go anywhere BG is playing in a Bowl....Except Hawaii. Too much $$$ for that to go off.
