Hockey's embarrassment

Post by TG1996 »

I assume most people here flip through all the forums, but knowing that I sometimes let the out of season sports go, this thread in the hockey forum is worth checking out.

Seven players were busted for an apparent hazing prank that pretty much makes me sick. The reputation of not only our very proud hockey program, but University is at stake, I believe, and I hope that this is handled in the proper way. Big time.

Do not assume it was a hazing prank. If this happened in April of 2003, as was reported, that was well after the season was over. Don't hazings happen to freshman in their first few weeks? Believe me, I am not defending this incident, it truly makes me SICK, but we do NOT need to speculate as to what happened until the facts come out. Hazing makes it sound much worse (not that it can't already), when it might have been nothing more than drunken stupidity. I have no doubt that Paluch will get to the bottom of it and take the appropriate actions, regardless of what happened!!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

yeah, i think this was some guys out partying and getting drunk and it got a little crazy. That doesnt excuse it, but its nto quite as bad as if it was a planned action.

I remember a similar thing happening at Marks Pizza Pub, but it wasn't hockey players involved. Someone passed out and they wrote all over him.
You are right.....it shouldn't happen, but it certainly isn't a rel BIG deal. I am thinking it was what was written and that was fueled by the alcohol.
