Underclassmen

Post by Pete Segaard »

Any comments about Brandon's ability to recruit after three games this year. I keep seeing that underclassmen have really stepped up this year on defense.

Well, it's a signal to kids that they'll get a shot at early playing time. I would think that's a good thing.

I think what happened during the last several recruiting classes? But yes, the new guys this year look impressive.

It's really amazing when you think about how young this team is.

The secondary is all freshmen and/or true sophomores that are fast and will only get better.

The front seven had four sophomore starters while Turner, Barnes, Partridge and Charles are all freshmen/sophomore stars on offense. Macon, Winovich, Lichtensteiger, Nystrom and O'Drobinak are all juniors who'll be back next year.

The line is more mature, as it should be in college football, but is also stocked with talented players waiting in the wings and growing physically, as the current starters have done.

And Rojas and Ellis are in their first of four years at BGSU. What will this team be like next year, or in 2007?!

I bet that they are just as good next year as in 2007.
