I'll have to look into that. But they should do something again. :-D

I still have this random idea for a Doyt statue as part of a fountain/reflecting pool, but I don't have the money, the skill or the pull to make it happen.
I wouldn't say it is completely a random idea as I have voiced my thoughts on bringing back the victory bell and also erecting a bronze Doyt Perry statue.

I think it would be cool to have a bust of Doyt in his suit and hat and glasses and maybe a clipboard near where the team comes out, so that he is always on our field watching over the game.

Since I have no artistic skills, and don't have a scanner at the moment, I've thought about a round reflecting pool with a round base in the middle with one of the top two pictures from this page (http://bgsusports.com/football/doytperry.shtml) re-done in bronze. Around the wide base have the Schembechler quote from my sig, and on the middle pedestal find a relevant quote from Doyt. In some form around the perimeter, either on tablets or engraved into the path around the pool, note his career achievements as well as some kind of nod to the 1959 team.

As for the swim team comment earlier... I agree. We had some outstanding swim teams in the late 50's/early 60's and they should be rightfully honored.
"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."
