Do you mean Zach Charles? I'm not saying he won't, but what have you actually seen out of him (not just hype or coachtalk) that suggests he's going to get an NFL look?

Tony Sheffler of WMU was a beast. He made an NFL team.

I don't think Ruiz or O'Drobinak will see a training camp, and Corey is a longshot due to his size.

I like Lichtensteiger's chances, out of all the players on our roster, to make the NFL.

Ruiz came to BG as a prized JUCO transfer and is a good player. He clearly isn't physical enough to be a TE and that's what led to his move to WR. I haven't seen him often enough to make a solid assessment, from what I've seen, he doesn't have the surest hands, which is a real problem since he's not a burner.

All I can say is, for "allegedly" how many problems BG QBs have putting the ball downfield, I'm shocked, SHOCKED, we don't get O'Drobinak the ball more.

i don't see how that is so clear. We have a stud TE already in O'D and we rearely run two TE sets. I think he was likely moved to WR because of our lack of WR's

Which part isn't clear?

For the record, I like Sean O., but let's not get carried away and call him a stud. He's been a good addition.

I remember following this story as it opened up- from seeing Ruiz at the new recruit screening at the Union in which he and others videos were played with commentary from Brandon.

Brandon said something to the effect that he will step in and be a TE force for us stating his JUCO accolades and awards- this was in February. Then over the summer they mentioned the possibility of going with two TE sets.

Then in 2005 after a couple games of Ruiz at TE they realized he wasn't blocking well at the line and didn't have good enough hands to be a possesion/seam route TE and moved him to FL/WR- this was during the 2005 season. I seem to vaguely remember a radio show quote or article quote from Brandon basically saying he thought they were getting more of a true TE and didn't have a lot of tape on Ruiz, but now that they have him in the system they feel he is a better fit as a WR/Flanker. I also seem to remember that this was used as an excuse/reason as to why our TE's weren't getting involved last season.

Then after 2005 Brandon again mentioned the two TE thing with the possiblity of Winnovich and O'Drob being the tight ends as Ruiz was now considered a full time flanker.

My point is Ruiz move to flanker/WR came when we were stocked at WR in 2005. It is up for everyone to put their own input in to the reason why, but I would say because we were short at WR is not the reason.
