In other words, we could have spotted EMU the points and started the game with a 31.5 to 0 EMU lead.
That certainly made Saturday night more interesting. In fact, by that measure, we lost
(I think the Falcons are 5-2 against the spread.)

I have always thought that the pathetic attendance for the final home game in 2002 against these same EMU HURONS played a role in Urban Meyer's departure. I don't care what attendance they announced, there couldn't have been more than 5,000 people at that game. That had to be really disheartening for a great group of SR's and a very good team that was a week away from a game with ToledoSchadenfreude wrote:Saturday might have been the most damaging day for our program in a decade.
If Brandon is anywhere near the fence about some hypothetical Nevada-Las Vegas offer, you've got to think looking up in the stands Saturday could influence his thinking.
If Paul Krebs ever had a notion of considering an opportunty somewhere else* instead of continuing to wait out Andy Geiger here at BGSU, looking up in those stands could not have been a good thing for him or us.
That game was on a VERY cold night, it was unbelievably cold. EMU was as bad as any team in the nation, quite possibly the worst. OSU beat UM in the afternoon to clinch a berth in the national championship game. We had been having a rough time lately after a very exciting beginning to the season.Flipper wrote:I have always thought that the pathetic attendance for the final home game in 2002 against these same EMU HURONS played a role in Urban Meyer's departure. Amen, that was nasty cold, and sitting out in the open without people around you only made it worse. There was snow on the ground, and the wind just whipped off of it.hammb wrote:

That is a recipe for VERY bad attendance. I went to the game, but even we left at halftime. It was insanely cold, and the game was O-V-E-R at that time.

Wuss...I stayed for the whole game. I think that Ted Piepkow's family comprised at least 2/3 the 4th qtr "crowd". I do admit to leaving the UT games in 2000 and 2002 beofre the final gun though. People bitch about the Doyt being cold, but the Glass Bowl is no picnic eitherhammb wrote:That game was on a VERY cold night, it was unbelievably cold. Funny, because I actually stayed to the finish of the glass bowl for both of those games. The 2000 game may have been the coldest football game I've ever been to. THe 2002 game was so cold that tailgating comprised of climbing into the back of the truck with the heater cranked and playing playstation! LOL We'd open the tailgate, grab a beer from teh cooler and close it back up ASAP! HAHAFlipper wrote:Wuss...I stayed for the whole game.
