god people in ohio have such a bias that ohio football is the apex of the world. ive been to ohio games and they are good teams. very disiplined football but boring to watch. unless ur watching a school like glenville or st. X or moehller, theres no speed at all. what are you people gonna argue next, that ohio is a better high school basketball state or better yet, a better track state?????

No, just much better HS football. It isn't a bias. Take a gander at how many HS kids from Ohio go on to play college ball...at all levels.moneymaker02 wrote: what are you people gonna argue next, that ohio is a better high school basketball state or better yet, a better track state?????
I don't know if Ohio has the best in the USA...Fla, Tx, CA, Penn all produce great HS talent.
Don't get so defensive...Do NC teams get 8, 12, 16 or even 25,000 high school games? McKinley and Massillon will likely have over 20K for their annual matchup. Tomorrow night, Dover is at New Philadelphia and both teams are 8-1...likely to 8-10K for that game.
Friday nights in the fall in Ohio has few comparisions. It isn't boasting....just the way it's always been.

Didn't we piss on each other about this for 10 pages a few weeks ago?
And as far as receivers go, CP and FB are 1 and 1a. Freddie brings more to the table in other areas, but WR throwbacks aside, it's stuff we don't need Corey to worry about doing.

then you've never been to a game in carolina, independence doesn't play games at their school anymore instead they play at memorial stadium to accomadate all the fans, and on a side note, a lot of people show up to watch the battle of the bands at half time. and memorial stadium seats 24,000Falconfreak90 wrote:No, just much better HS football. OK...I've tried. You're right. OH HS football is nothing compared to NC.moneymaker02 wrote:then you've never been to a game in carolina, independence doesn't play games at their school anymore instead they play at memorial stadium to accomadate all the fans, and on a side note, a lot of people show up to watch the battle of the bands at half time. and memorial stadium seats 24,000Falconfreak90 wrote:No, just much better HS football. This discussion is going nowhere. Back up why NC is better than OH Hs football. Ask any recruiting expert out there what state has better talent. You won't like the answer.
Thanks for the chat.

Ever heard of Tom Lemming? Here's what he thinks of NC high school talent from a chat transcript:
Cincinnati, OH: Tom, love your work !! Other than TX, FL, and CA, what are the top states with the top talent?
Tom Lemming: Georgia, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois are the top. A sleeper state per capita is Mississippi. Look at Brett Favre, Walter Payton and Jerry Rice. What I have found, unfortunately, is players from Mississippi can have problems qualifying.
Funny, I must have missed the part where he raved about North Carolina football. Nobody's arguing Ohio is the best, just that it's far superior to North Carolina according to every recruiting expert who ever lived. [/hyperbole].
A fun stat. If you scan the rosters of the top 20 teams in the country, you'll find exactly 22 players from North Carolina. I'm flabbergasted by the overwhelming amount of talent spewing forth from this wondrous hotbed.

Without taking the time to check, I would guess there is 4 to 5 times that number of Ohio players just at Ohio State and Michigan.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:A fun stat. That number would be 97.Warthog wrote:Without taking the time to check, I would guess there is 4 to 5 times that number of Ohio players just at Ohio State and Michigan.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:A fun stat. Add in USC and WVU, the number jumps to 118. I don't feel like counting the rest, but it probably gets into the 200+ range. I really don't think this "debate" has anywhere else to go from here. Especially when you consider the fact that Clemson has the same number of kids from Ohio as they do from NC (3).
