Me wonders how many people would say these sort of things to the guy's face.

Football is a team sport. Before criticizing GB, evaluate every aspect of the teams play today. GB is responsible for getting the team ready, the players are responsible for playing. It is obvious he has had trouble getting the team up to play this season. Lost to Kent, CMU, OSU, WIS, and now Temple. Beat OU, barely beat Buffalo (also one of the worst teams in the country), beat FIU (another bad team), and EMU. What does that say about GB and the team this year?

Talent is weak and coaching is weak. But the best coaches get the most out of their players. The best coaches mold the talent they have into a TEAM. Brandon isn't one of the best, and the talent he has recruited certainly isn't the best.

Glad I was at the OSU game today. Tress knows how to recruit. Knows how to mold his players into a team, and knows how to prepare his team. Sorry, but GB is no Tress.

And we wonder why conversations devolve.

Brandon took over Urban's team. For two years Urban/Brandon's team were able to continue what Urban started. Now that we are in Brandon's team. And I include players, philosophies and schemes we are unraveling like we have seen after success. Moe Ankney unraveling success following Stolz. Blackney unraveling success following, well Blackney.

The point I'm trying to make is that Coach Brandon has lost almost all that Urban Meyer gained and built at Bowling Green. We could say he should be given another year. Look at the opportunity we have given Dakich. But we're not talking Dakich. This will be the test of our new AD and Christopher has an opportunity to try and make a mark. Bowling Green needs to TRY and find another Urban Meyer. Because if we stay status quo, this board next year will not be filled with vitriolic feedback. It will be filled with little to no feedback and the record, the fandom and the attendance will most certainly suffer. And in the end I think thats what we all want to avoid the most...becoming another Ohio U., or Eastern Michigan.

Actually got to meet the AD today before the game. No, I didn't tell him to fire Brandon. But the game hadn't been played yet!

Seriously, it is the easiest thing in the world to say, "fire this guy." Brandon has been a tough guy to evaluate though.

To evaluate him just on today's game, there are two schools of thought:

Macro-evaluation: Losing to Temple is indicative of bad coaching no matter the circumstances. It's hard to argue with this point, because the feeling of shame and disbelief is strong, make no mistake. However, to truly evaluate the in-game coaching today, we must pretend we know nothing of Temple and their woeful history.

And so...

Micro-evaluation:
In today's game I blame Brandon for (a bad trait of his), making bad play calls once BG gets near the red zone. It's like he thinks you get points if you get down to the opponent's 30. He calls plays that leave the team with long 3rd down plays, and knowing how lousy the FG kicking is, he should not put his team in this position. Keep the foot on the pedal until the endzone!

I blame Brandon for some assinine penalties by the players. Even though the players share the blame, the penalties are so costly and common, the coach needs to change the team's mindset.

The Kickoff Return and missed FG. The special teams are a incompetently managed.

That said, things I do not blame Brandon for:

The blocked punt: Have any of you seen this thing? It was a ridiculous individual play by a kid where he first hurdled a BG blocker then climbed him like a ladder.

Fumble at the goal line out the end zone.

Ruiz totally dropped two important first down catches that were right in his hands. That is a fact. At least two. And there were times when Brandon called the right play, the QB made the right throw, and the receiver dropped the ball. What can you do?

These are all player mistakes that absolutely changed the game.

And so...I don't know what the answer is, I neither bury nor praise Brandon, but I do have a ******* headache.

Anyone that thinks Brandon should not resign or be fired after this loss, must be a member of the Brandon family. I am normally against such a harsh action, but a loss againsts the worst team in Div 1-A is grounds for firing. The thing I'm most concerned with now is, how do we get people to come out and watch this team against Miami?
that's what she said

I called for Brandon departure two years ago when Toledo came back from a 28 to 7 halftime score to win the game. Toledo began to move the ball in the middle of the second quarter, and the signs were on the wall then. Brandon did nothing, totally nothing the second half to stem the tide. He can't adjust, just doesn't know how. Whatever, I said he should have been fired after the Toledo game, and Holy Toledo, you'd ah thought that I was being sacrilegious; I got yelled at, screamed at, etc. Now it seems that many of you have caught up, feel the same way that I did then. ---- These coaches make big bucks to produce so I don't feel sorry for 'em. Some laugh all the way to the bank. Brandon, and in particular, his offensive play caller, need to goooooooooooo!

Gotta agree with cowboy on this one. Right now we just do not have the talent at the skill positions (WR & QB) We are developing it but the reality is that we have a 4.7 wideout (Ruiz) as one of our leading receivers. The guy is a TE. We lost a good one that failed to go to study and go to class. We need work on this one.

How do we get people to come out and watch the Miami game? Shoot...it will be the same people who come to all of the other games whether we win or lose--the die hards.

Gregg Brandon is going to coach our team next year, and probably until the end of his contract. In that vein, I hope he can turn it around.

Yaaawwwwwnnnnnnnnn.

People, we're generally rehashing the same crap that's been obvious for months and months and months. BG Football is DEAD and will stay dead until Brandon takes employment elsewhere. That reality isn't going to change, and you aren't going to understand this reality better than you already do. Your lives are short. Move on. No offense meant to anybody, but there's nothing new to say or know. This situation is static.

there is no case to ask for this, more over there is no reason.
One season that goes south because we lost are superstar and had a stoned retard for a backup followed by this year withthe stoned retard, is no reason to call for the coach.
Next year will be fine. Will not havt to worry about any "bowls" while on the Ncaa D1 reduction plan and will be able to jut play football, our recruting will go to hell, and while we will rebound next year, in 4 years we again suffer.
but we should be down a division b¥ then so we will be fine, up side is most of the MAC will be with us.

Before we start talking about Gregg Brandon's head, I think some common sense needs to prevail: Is there a viable alternative? Could another coach have coached a freshman-laden team to a better record? Has our recruiting suffered under GB? Will it improve with the completion of the SEBO?

Lots of questions need to be asked, but no one expected us to be strong this year. Why don't we see what he does with a more experienced club next year.
