Ah, thanks for clearing that up! I knew he was doing an outstanding job out there, but for some reason thought it was D-II.San Diego Falcon wrote:San Diego is non-scholarship DI-AA. It is suspected they were given serious consideration for invitation to the DI-AA playoffs, which is unheard of for a non-scholarship team (they fell short of the invite). Harbaugh has done a great job with them. He will be a DI-A head coach soon somewhere.
CMU message board rumors say Jim Harbaugh to Coach Chips
"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."

So would I. As for Harbaugh, you were the one who asked why people thought Harbaugh "automatically" was God. I'm just saying that it isn't because of his playing career but because of the coaching record he is establishing.BGSUFootballFan wrote:Yeah, because proving yourself in DII is way more impressive than winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 years.orangeandbrown wrote:Because he is proving himself as an outstanding football coach and paying his dues in DII. Solich, FWIW, took OU to their first football success of any kind in decades in his second year there. I don't think he's a god, but I think he can coach.![]()
Solich did a nice job with Ohio this year, but it was in an extremely under performing divison and he got outcoached in the MACC game and by Gregg Brandon. Also I'd rather lose with Brandon, than win with a drunk. But that's just me.

Ok fair enough. But I'm just saying if your going to give a guy credit for that, then why not give a guy who won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years credit, or a guy who went (59-17) with a NC & was one bad ref call away from 2 NC's credit?orangeandbrown wrote:So would I.
