So... what's next for Urban??

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

Does he stick around and work on a dynasty? Does he make the leap to the NFL? I mean... seriously, he's young, what else is there for him to do in college football?

I believe he's lived the (albiet wrong) definition of "Meteoric Rise to Success." (meteors don't rise, people....)

What do you think he'll do next? BG/Utah/Florida/????

He stays at Florida and becomes an institution like Bobby Dodd, Woody Hayes, Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden.

In case people haven't noticed Urban is about the $$$! I think if not this year without a doubt next year he'll be in the NFL! He's a midwesterner...anyone else think he'll get a call from the Steelers?? I know its kind of a long shot because the Steelers have said they are looking within but hey its a possibility! I think the only reason he's still in college ball was to raise his stock so that he could make a pretty penny when making the move to the NFL!

I think he's coaching in the NFL within 2 seasons. I don't think he'll follow the Nick Saban/Larry Brown vagabond path, but I don't see him settling in at Florida forever. One thing you hae to admire about Urban, he always seems focused on the next mountain. He's not one to sit around and admire the view from the peak he's on. In coaching, that next mountain plays on Sunday.

Depends on what Mrs. Meyer wants him to do!!

I think he coaches Florida until Charlie Weis is fired and goes to ND.

It is not enough to conquer one sport. He should retire from football while still at the top and test his mettle at, say, synchronised swimming. Just to hone his incredible talent.

Well, I was right when I said he would be at Utah a max of 2 years. I was right when I said he would have a natl championship within two years.

He'll be coaching the NFL after next season and his salary will make Saban look like a pauper.

More surprising than the final score last night was the fact that I did not see a camera zoom in on Mrs. Meyer once. The only reference of her that I remember was at the beginning when Chris Meyers said something about Urban's wife Julie. Unless Urbie got divorced and remarried, that's not his wife's name.

I heard him call her that too. Didn't he also say Meyer played at OSU? Way to research your topic there....

He already apparently turned the job down once-- why would he accept them now? Charlie Weis isn't going anywhere for a while either.

Charlie Weis is going to the NFL New York Football Giants. ND might go after Urban again...I think ND and OSU are the two college gigs he might leave Florida for...they're going to have to allow someone the same deal Holtz had on academic exemptions to be a real national player again.

The point is moot...Urban's coaching the Browns in a year or two,

Urban stays in Florida for another 3 or 4 years, continually is ranked in the top 10, maybe another championship before he jumps to the NFL.
