ESPN Bowl Picks as of 11/8

Post by BGSU33 »

They all have us going somewhere....for now...it's up to us to keep winning and keep it that way. We also have to keep in mind that these picks were made with the understanding that many BCS teams who still have a shot at becoming bowl eligible are "projected" as not getting in. The more of them that do get in, the less chances a school like BG has at landing a spot.

I think a matchup with Fresno St. would be a nice one. I also wouldn't mind seeing BG play Southern Miss. I think we could win both of those games.
If you go to Toledo or you like Toledo, you suck!!!

I think we'll win any bowl they have the nerve to put us in.

I know we've played Fresno State in bowl games... a lot... but it would be cool to do it again.

I sure hope a third bowl opens up... and if a third one opens up, I hope we get that one. Who knows when the chance will come again?

Fresno State has a 3-2 edge on us in bowl games. We need to get to .500 against them. I could live with a So Miss match up also. Hell, I could live with just about any bowl gamne at this point....

No. I want a BcS team. I will not be happy playing another mid-major in a bowl game. WE shouldnt have to play ach other in bowls. Bowl games a re a time for the little school to whoop some BcS butt. I dotn care what bowl it is, but I want a "big time" program. At least a BcS conf. team.

I'll take any bowl, any where, against anyone.

As for Fresno State, I was there when they embarrassed us (thank you again, Denny) in Cal Bowl V, so I'd like a chance to even our record against them.

I have to admit that making the trip to any bowl may be a tough sell this year. My hope is that my annual bonus arrives the same time as a bowl bid and my wife will be so giddy that she'll peel off a few bills for a bowl excursion!

I'm sure Fresno state will roll their eyes at playing us again. Though a chance to even up the series would be nice. It would be odd to add new articles to my scrapbook of 1991 clips from that year.

Fresno has fallen pretty far under my radar this year, how are they doing?

I'd rather play a BCS team in a bowl game too, but I'll take any bowl against anyone at this point.

I wont be greedy. I'll take whoever we can get. I really think if we don't get the Motorcity or GMAC, we will be snubbed. Silicon Valley, Emerald and even Ft Worth want nothing with us. They will look at our attendence and compare it to someone closer to the region. They would all take a WAC/Moutain West or CUSA(FT WORTH) before us, even if we are a better team. That's just my opinion.

Beat them both. Early and often. Shame their parents, and embarrase them in front of their girlfriends.

If we can get some friendly losses in the top 25, then we can get ranked. So long as we don't lose either of the next two games, I can't see us not getting a bowl bid.

Who has checked the schedules of the lower end of the top 25? Who might lose, how many might lose?

in the ESPN poll, #23 Texas A&M plays #25 Texas Tech, I think that's all we need to know, unless the game goes to 12 OT's and they hold position.

And shame their girlfriends??

That's just baaaaaaaa-d!

Fresno State beat us in the 1961 Mercy Bowl, the 1982 California Bowl and the 1985 California Bowl. Our only bowl win against them was the 1991 California Bowl.

We would be playing to get to 2-3 against them.
