With all due respect, this team isn't in a position to vie for a bowl game any longer.

They're fighting for a winning record.

yea...sad as it is...

listen folks, the two occ games most people were excited about...navy and boise are gone. thats bad because they would have been huge draws, its good because we would have lost them probably. (we COULD win them, like we COULD win any game but in reality...we'd lose) so what we need to do now is schedule games that will draw a crowd that we'd win...give the team a confidence boost. ithink that was huge last season...after temple we were completely deflated...schedule a sacraficial lamb...

dayton would fit this. they'd lose and you have enough people who'd like to see a win and who have some kinda roots in the dayton area that might not normally go to a game. plus anyone who wants to see 2 ohio teams duke it out... i think it'd be a good one to get.

also we could get kids from the school up here maybe...dayton IS only 130 or so miles and not a bad drive...ive driven it alot. to them this would be like us taking on a big dog...they'd want to go to cheer and hope they could come away with an upset.
hey everyone! i'm a moron!

I just don't believe Bowling Green would ever play Dayton or any nonscholarship program.

My firm belief: Not. Gonna. Happen.

The best bets would be the Gateway or the Ohio Valley. Historically, these are the conferences we've looked to for I-AA opponents.

Personally, I think it would be fun to bring in a historically black university and their marching band -- something like Florida A&M. But these programs might command slightly bigger guarantees than we are used to.

If we're going to contemplate playing Dayton, why not look at scheduling Otsego or Eastwood High School?

Would Otsego be a home and home?

I hope we can get them to come here first so we don't get screwed out of the home game.

From Temples schedule....

9-1-07 NAVY
9-8-07 KENTUCKY
9-15-07 at Connecticut
9-29-07 at Army
11-10-07 PENN STATE
TBA MAC OPPONENTS

We have since the new year asked to be released from the Kentucky game....

Not sure how thats going but if 7 conference games thats our 12.

Same thing. There was only one, maybe two, I-A teams with a winning record last year that didn't go to a bowl game.

Under the current rules, I doubt any I-A team will ever play a non-scholarship I-AA team.

Buffalo has played some Patriot League teams since joining the MAC -- but that's Buffalo, and it may have been under the old rules.

To your first point, spot on. I just don't see BG scheduling a non-scholarship program. Big step backward.

In regard to Florida A&M, I believe Temple had them in Philly a few years back and it was quite the show.

I think it is dumb to schedule non-D-I opponents! Why are we get the short end of the stick every year with scheduling? What have we done to piss of Rick Chryst and the MAC? Maybe it's time to start thinking about a new conference....

I-AA = UNACCEPTABLE

You are a bunch of sissys when you put a I-AA on your schedule.

F-TEMPLE... they are worthless... they aren't worth the charmin they wipe their bird cage with everyday.

Effin MAC.. get your head out of the Burning River and get back to developing an Identity for this conference.
