A little help on BSU/BGSU 2007

Post by NeighSayer »

There is still mass confusion in Boise whether this game will be played or not. Our AD was quoted as saying, "The Bowling Green game is not on our schedule, but it isn't off our schedule, either."

Can anyone shed any light on why the Falcons may want to postpone this match-up (again), and whether it is more likely to happen or not?

I think you have a great fanbase and am/was really looking forward to a little back-and-forth with you.

Your guess is as good as ours. Last year, as we are lead to believe, it wasn't our "fault". The MAC came to BG and said "OU screwed up, we need you to drop BSU to fix the schedule". I think the AD then turned around, dropped his pants and bent over. I think more of the same is happening now.

My question, If we aren't on the schedule, why are we on the schedule that is listed? To we get an asterisk next to us. I sure as hell hope this game happens. It looks like we will only have 5 home games. I'd really like one top notch, exciting game if I'm going to drive 4+ hours to attend. 7 Home games like you guys have would be sweet

The official release has BG on the schedule, with no quotes from the AD. Maybe it has been resolved?

Looks like you all have some more info on whats going. Just got done reading some on Bronco Country. Sorry to say, we haven't really heard anything other than Minnesota/Mich State, and Boston College announcing we are on there schedules (But nothing about these games from BG). Supposedly the 4th game is between Indiana (schedule released, we're not on it), Pittsburgh (pretty sure thats not happening), BSU or Western KY. Our AD has said nothing, but the MAC schedule is supposed to be released next week.

Vandelay reported on the MAC boards today that a beat writer at the Q told him BG asked to drop Boise off the schedule. :x

Can't wait to see the crowd we have when we host Western KY over Fall Break for our only home OOC game. :axe:

If that's true, we better ready the pitchforks to run Greg Christopher out of town. It's pretty clear where he stands on things, and they aren't in the best interest of BG.

I'm to the point where I'm ready to run Christopher out of town anyways. He refuses to make a change as we watch both our football & hockey teams swirl around the crapper. I wish he would just publicly announce his decision for the basketball situation as well...he knows what it is but instead he's string in out. Throw in the scheduling issues and I want to know what he IS doing to help our athletic department.

Here's the link to the MAC boards thread:

And here is a link to the Boise St board where they are discussing their schedule. Looks like the first one shows that they have 12 games with the Southern Miss game being either 9/22 or 9/27. Then they posted another schedule which set the So Miss game as 9/22 and still coming to BG on 9/29 for a 13th game. But that is ok since they play at Hawaii this year.

GC has been dealt a tough hand folks... lay off just a little until the final schedule is announced...

Miami was finally going to have six home games... but we are stuck with three mac home games... and four road contests... with one of those going to Philly for Temple. UGH!

The only good news in the matter is that we (Miami) ended up with 5 good OOC matchups... UC, Syracuse, Minn, Vandy, and Colorado.

So the 7 game MAC schedule is official? BTW, Vandy Doesn't have Miami on their schedule, on their website.

question

Post by fulch »

why wouldn't we want to play Boise? We would pack the Doyt and get some national exposure we wouldn't get against a I-AA team. Is it because we are afraid we'd get killed? We played Wisky not quite at home and didn't get killed. I'd say we got thoroughly beaten, but we hung in there. Why couldn't we at least do the same thing against Boise?
