Jack Carle's Scheduling Editorial

From today's Sentinel Tribune:

I forgot about the Az St game that was supposed to be next year.

And he mentions some fan site that is having a lengthy discussion about the schedule. :o

What is the agreement in place with Boise? My understanding is/was that we signed a pair of home and home contracts. We opened things playing there in 2005. We gave up our 2006 game and agreed to move the other (2009?) up to this year. We then agreed to give that up too, meaning we would travel to Boise in 2008 without Boise ever coming back.

The press release then announces a 2011 game with Boise creating the impression that we had simply moved our 2007 game to 2011...BUT, the folks in Boise are claiming the 2011 game is simply the front end of ANOTHER one for one that will conclude with a 2012 trip to Boise.

This article refernces a "four game agreement with the MAC"...I didn't know the MAC entered into contracts with individual schools. Or is a "four game agreememtn with the MAC" simply a polite way of saying that "BG gets the short end of a 3 for 1"

Somebody has some explaining to do...

I found this curious also. IIRC, shortly after we announced our original deal with Boise, they followed up by announcing home and homes with Miami and Toledo. It sure sounds like the MAC took over those games and threw them into one pot that the MAC office will now divide up.

Can any of the Rocket or Redhawk fans fill us in on the status of their series with Boise?

Miami signed a 1 for 1 with Syracuse.

Minnesota 2 for 1 contract in place early last year.

Cincinnati... This game has been played forever and rotates between schools.

Colorado... signed a 1 for 1 in October of 2006

Vandy.... just signed during the MAC debacle of Kent having 7 contracts in place.

Miami only has 3 home MAC games... that is what they had to give up.
