GMAC Bowl recollections
Earlier tonight, I popped in the tape of the '04 GMAC Bowl. Nothing too much to report, except that thatwas a fun time to be a Falcon football fan. I had an amazing time at that game, and its still fun to watch today. Ahhh... memories.

That onside kick was too sweet!bgmaggot00 wrote:Not sure what it has to do with anything, but Suisham was 7-7 on extra points, he made a 37 yd. field goal, and kicked one onside kick that was recovered by the Falcons.
On the other hand, Cole Magner put up one heck of an ugly-looking 19 yard rugby punt out of bounds.
During the first half, our group was excoriating Beckman rather loudly for the way the defense was playing.
We eventually realized we were just above where the coaches families were sitting and decided to keep our thoughts to ourselves for the time being. Well, that and the defense played much better in the second half.

That was one great trip with the kid, wasn't it 87...seeing as how we had the same plush accomodations at the SuperRoofEconotel
My favorite play was the delayed dump off pass to PJ when Memphis blitzed the second time in a row. That was the nail!!
My second favorite play was Wimprine scrambling around backward throwing a fumble that we recovered.
Third favorite was the too many men on the field penalty after they called a timeout on fourth and short...followed shortly thereafter by the same penalty.

I actually just watched that the other day as well. I got one of those highlight DVDs they give to contest winners at BG athletic events. Man, that was so fun to watch.
I wasn't sure how to feel afterward. I'm always hopeful for BG athletics, but it sure made me miss my first year here.
