In all seriousness guys, I have enjoyed the constant ribbing you guys have given me throughout the week, it has been fun, there are so few fan forums in the MAC where you can actually enjoy the week leading up to the game, this is one of them in which you can.
I am going to miss the MAC, yes I believe the CUSA is a much better place for us, and the schools in the CUSA may not be powerhouses, but they bring a whole lot more to the table than some of the remaining schools in the MAC.
I am going to miss trips to BG, WMU, CMU, Ohio, Akron and Miami. I am not looking forward to trips to Memphis, New Orleans, Birmingham and Houston in the fall and winter, I want football weather, like we will have this Saturday.
In regards to this weeks game, I dont know how anyone can really predict a score for the game. I mean neither team has beaten anyone any good, yet both sides fans think we are good. You guys have been putting up a lot of points on the board against bad teams, where as we have been just scraping by. Oklahoma pretty much handled you guys in your big game, we lost on a last second field goal at OSU and only gave up 13 points on the road at UGA. So who knows, based on our losses to Troy and Akron you would think you guys should handle us, but the Troy loss was to a decent team who took LSU to the wire on the road and our line was terrible at the time, and our Akron loss was just one of those games where it just was not meant to be for us. We could and should have put 50+ on them but did not.
The only thing I know about this weekend, is that I am going to be there with my wife and my cousin, we have made it to every game, both home and away. We will sit in a great atmosphere on a beautiful afternoon and we will believe that we can win.
The rest is up to the teams between the lines.
Anyway, I enjoyed this week, have a good time this weekend, I am not going to say Good Luck, but I will say Be Safe.

MARSHALL GAME....
MARSHALL GAME....
GO HERD
awwww... he has a soft side!!!
I think you're right. I (and all of us) have a strong confidence that BG will do well against you guys. While we likely won't have another 551 yard, 49 point first half, I think our offense is clicking something fierce right now, but another top defense brings another challenge. Though the only downside I see for BG is our history of changing the playbook against top teams. If we come out throwing the ball and running options like we have the past month and a half, we should be all right. If we get beat, then we got beat playing our game. I'm not the greatest football mind out there, but I do know that when you simplify your offense, you make it easier for the defense, too. We can't afford to do that, and I hope we don't. (Until we're running up the middle just to run the clock out late in the third quarter of course! *grin*)
Have a good trip and a good time up at the Doyt, and here's to a safe, but sad, trip home!

Wart - that was too funny.
I obviously think that BG will win this game, but I also think it will be a competitive football game. I expect it to be close with BG pulling away with a TD in the 4th quarter for a 14-point victory. I think Marshall is underestimating BG because we have been "beating up on bad teams." I hate to tell Marshall fans that losing to Ohio State on a last second field goal is not something to be proud of, at least we have beaten up on bad teams and not barely won like some MAC teams. BG has played better than any team in the MAC the last 7 weeks and that will continue Saturday. I can't wait to get to the Doyt for my first BG game of the year.
I have a lot of respect for Marshall and what they have accomplished on the football field while in the MAC. With that said, I will take great pride in watching BG be the team that beats Marshall in the last meaningful football game they play in the conferance. They have a good team, they have good players and they have a good coach, but they have never had the proper respect for MAC football and their intentions from day one in this league were to leave as soon as they could find a better situation. Most MAC fans never really wanted you anyway, so we are not sad to see you leave. Maybe Marshall has put the MAC on the college football map, but I think it would have happened without their help. Marshall isn't the only school that has had great players or coaches in recent years. Saturday will be a historic day for MAC football - it will be the official end to Marshall University in the great Mid-American Conferance.
I would say Good Luck in C-USA, but I wouldn't mean it.

Sorry....great is reserved for conferences with the thugs of Cincinnati, Memphis, and UAB. Along with the residents of the Pizza Bowl Louisville and the good ol fightin purple of TCU. Our bad for having pride in an underrated conference, as opposed to an overrated one!
Living in Virginia....so this is what elevation looks like =)
