I echo Freak and Niz here. I like these times. No time is perfect for all, but:
1. They are consistent. Big plus.
2. Students are always awake at that time. Big plus for the most important constituents we have (my opinion).
3. You have time to travel to town (most of us), tailgate and have pregame fun. Big plus for oranged up alums.
4. The lights will be on. I like the atmosphere w/lights. Big plus.
5. Media coverage for next day outlets no problem as game does not end TOO late. Plus.
AD Christopher is indeed off and running. As MAC teams take more and more ownership of football scheduling, Niz, you will see good results with our schedule over time. You are right; the MAC/ESPN created scheduling issues- a few positive, most not- for us and some other MAC schools over the years. There is no doubt about that. I look forward to the day when we can set and announce a football schedule well in advance, make plans and generate even more excitement. Hopefully, that opportunity will come soon.

Nice times. The evening starts are fantastic! The sun setting over the Doyt with the lights are absolutely beautiful. Plenty of time for us out-of-towners to get to the games and tailgate. I think the only game I won't be able to make is the Friday game with Akron. (I have a nephew who is a starting left tackle in High School) Other than that I'm there. I'm thinking of purchasing the flex-plan through the ticket office.

The high school season starts in June this year, so unless his team makes the playoffs, his season will be over come Nov 2.mjmorefield wrote:I think the only game I won't be able to make is the Friday game with Akron. (I have a nephew who is a starting left tackle in High School)
edit to confirm that the first round of the high football playoff does indeed start on Nov 2. ( http://tinyurl.com/337c9a ) Wonder if that will have any impact on attendance that night?

Great post, ff1. I like the fact that all our home games are at night and, for the most part, won't conflict with the game times of OSU. Like it or not, OSU pulls so many people to them if we play at the same time, it will hurt our attendance. Under the lights!!! Travel time for those of us out of town. I can still get home at a decent hour unless I tailgate too long after the game. LOL! September evening games can be simply perfect weather. Nothing like being at the Doyt with a beautiful orange sunset!falconfan1 wrote:I echo Freak and Niz here. I like these times. No time is perfect for all, but:

The team has made the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years or something like that. I hope they make it this year also. I'll gladly miss one BG game to attend his high school playoff game, but if not...then I'll bring him with me and we'll be in BG cheering on the Falcons!Warthog wrote:The high school season starts in June this year, so unless his team makes the playoffs, his season will be over come Nov 2.mjmorefield wrote:I think the only game I won't be able to make is the Friday game with Akron.
