Are you trying to say that he didn't really do this, but it's just that his teammates don't like him and so they are blaming this on him?mmisbg wrote:This opinion might not be the most popular on this thread, but I know several UT grads....and I haven't heard good things about Scooter McDougle.
I'm really wondering if this "witch hunt" hasn't come about because there have been suspicions about McDougle doing a lot of things, but there hasn't been enough evidence to pin anything on him.
I've got the impression that this entire mess has come about because the point-shaving and kickback-taking bit is the only thing that they have been able to produce any evidence for.
Like I said, I only bring it up because I have heard some rather not nice things about McDougle. If the stories I have heard are true, this theory might have something to it.
Just a thought.

4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
Actually, what I'm saying is that I've heard that McDougle is rumored to have been involved in some shady business outside the football team. According to what some people have told me, he is comparable to Pacman Jones.
It is just a thought that I have....call it a hunch. It might be that the long arm of the law hasn't been long enough to get him for the things that they really want to, so they are settling for what they got.

I don't think the NCAA cares about what the police want out of Scooter. They're poking around because there's gambling involved. They already contacted UT about some odd betting going on before the Kent State game this year and then a player get's indicted for involvement in a point shaving scheme....at that point they pretty much have to take a closer look even if the Feds have dropped the charges against scooter (for now?)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
wait, macman, are you blaming the new logo for those problems? its like the painting in ghostbusters 2, it will posess you and make you act like an idiot! look away! it will go down in history next to the swastika as a symbol that embodies true hatred and evil!
haha sorry.
haha sorry.
hey everyone! i'm a moron!
The Blade has a new story up about "Finance-Gate" with some interesting revelations.

Apparently, O'Brien considers an associate athletic director being skeptical about coaches going on international junkets and meals being handed out willy nilly to be "a tremendous blow to our morale." Yes, what a downer that nutty idea of 'fiscal responsibility' is. I wonder what doing your job well and getting fired over it does to morale in the department. If she didn't care about fiscal responsibility, she could have gotten a job at Ohio State.
He aired this in a whining email to a Blade VP when the first series of stories came out, something Dr. Jacobs didn't much care for.
