Did anyone else see the odds against winning the MAC Championship in the USA Today the last couple of days and fall off their chair as I about did? Here is how they are listed with odds:
Central Michigan 1:1
Western Michigan 2:1
Bowling Green 3:1
Ohio 3:1
Toledo 3:1
Kent State 4:1
Northern Illinois 6:1
Akron 10:1
Miami (Ohio) 10:1
Ball State 100:1
Temple 1 million:1
Eastern Michigan 1 million:1
Buffalo 1 million:1
Obviously someone making those odds likes BG a lot better than most people at this point. Personally I think after the top two, from BG to Miami, any of those teams have a chance and are pretty close to each other, I was just surprised that BG was only 3:1 to win the conference. I would have guessed they would be somewhere like 10 or 15 to 1 and behind Toledo, Kent, OU, Akron and maybe Miami.
I know Vegas would never have a team at 1 million to 1, but if that were the case, I would throw a couple bucks down on Temple, Eastern and Buffalo just for the hell of it with those odds.

87, I am not a big gambler and I am sure you are a lot smarter than me, but I took the wording directly from the newspaper. Under the heading 'College Football' it says, "Odds against winning conference championships". I thought the wording was strange, but I figured it was just the correct gambling way to say, here are the favorites to win, blah, blah, blah.1987alum wrote:Do you means odds OF winning the MACC? Because if the odds AGAINST Eastern Michigan winning the MACC are a million to 1, I'm placing my bets right now and planning my retirement party for the day after the champioinship game.

Oh I agree with the Ball State bet. With those odds, Ball State would be the most logical team to bet on if you want to try and get rich quick!BGGrad01 wrote:If I were a gambler, I would put money on Miami and Ball State at those odds. Nate Davis is good enough to win a couple MAC games with zero help from his teammates. If the rest of their team progresses, they could be a darkhorse in the West.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
