That's a bit silly.

First, the '06 jerseys were reasonably close to what the team wore in the 80s, except that the shoulder stripe is more contemporary.

Also: Did you happen to look at Minnesota's uniforms Saturday? Have you ever taken a look at Penn State?

If done right, changes to bring the home uniforms more in line with the road uniforms could be an improvement.

But what we have now is actually good.

Sure, it's not trendy -- but the previous road uniforms show what can happen when things get too trendy. I haven't heard a soul see the road uniforms on Saturday and wish for the old ones. Those things were fugly, almost from day one.

The Brown jerseys were all right, but they are a touch boring. I can live with that given that they're actually a traditional style look. I wish they had stripes on the sleeves though...specifically I think they need some orange in them.

The new road jerseys were an improvement over the old ones, but I still don't like the jerseys that have the stripes up the side, get rid of that and I'd think the new ones were really good.

I still miss this look:

But then, I really like the color orange...

The brown jerseys with white pants is one of the best jersey combinations I've ever seen. It's simple and works well. Most importantly, it re-iterates brown as one of our school colors.

It should also be noted that the browns are pretty darn close replications of this jersey from the late 70s, a true "throwback" not just in theme, but in substance:

yes a throwback, which means they should be worn maybe twice a year thats it. ya they were worn in the 80's that was twenty years ago. also, i was a huge fan of the former white on whites, i thought they were awesome, but because they did such a good job with the new white on whites im not mad that they changed it. the brown is just pathetic and makes us look like a middle school team.

The folks with more training in color theory can address this, but there's something rather flat with two-color uniforms. Having a third (tertiary?) or accent color really makes for a richer look. Restrained use of orange on the brown unis would really make a nice addition.

Nobody had uni combinations liek 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates..thy had three different jerseys and three differents sets of pants and at least a couple of hat variations.

All of them looked like they had been designed by a hooker on a three day speed binge

2003 Orange are my favorite uniforms also. Not that my opinion counts or anything though.

I've always been a big fan of the '73 Oakland Athletics uniforms. Five different jerseys, three different sets of pants. Only one hat, though:

Of course, I'm hoping the Indians get the opportunity to wear these again next season:

i dont like the brown jersey either. i know we wore them in the past...but that doesn't make em good. its like the astros going back to that striped brown rainbow mess and everyone saying "its ok, they're a throw back" tradition is all well and good... but come on...those brown jerseys are just so plain... and plus, on national tv ppl will think we're copying off the browns (yes, we all know they copied us...but unless you want to run a disclaimer on the bottom of the screen most others wont know that) i for one liked the orange pants and orange jerseys with the brown under arm stripes. classy, sleek, modern....clean.
hey everyone! i'm a moron!

why all the brown jersey bashing?
I don't have the time, because I'm at work, but can someone find the old thread from a couple years back after the game we first wore the brown shirts again?
I recall most people loved the brown being brough back.....

I love the brown jerseys. I'd like them more if we wore them with orange pants!
