I don't have the time, because I'm at work, but can someone find the old thread from a couple years back after the game we first wore the brown shirts again?
I recall most people loved the brown being brough back.....
i liked it because it was a suprise thing against toledo that we wore them because it was a "throwback" kinda thing. I never would have thought in my wildest dreams they would make them permanent.
plus, answer me this.........HAVE WE EVER WON IN THEM????? THATS A BIG FAT NO

Heck, yeah!
Hey, look at me! I'm all over the InterWebs! Facebook ~ Twitter @ CoachKarlPA ~ LinkedIn
i agree with the earlier post...i liked em as special alternates...as a throwback... kinda like when a pro team will wear something old as a special occasion thing... but NOT every day. i think gb has a thing for em though, so he uses em more then not.
Add a little orange to the shoulder strip and outline the lettering and numbers in orange and we have approximately a brown version of the new away jersey. I like the current brown better than any of the orange or the the new white.
Here's a thought - Why not wear white at home like LSU and the Cleveland Browns (sometimes)?
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
Because the reason LSU wears their whites at home is because of the blistering heat Louisiana sees. Bowling Green, OH isn't like that. Pro teams wear their different uniforms as a way to sell merchandise.

The Browns wore white at home long before merchandising was an issue. They wore orange for money and brown to break the luck of an opponent (such as the Steelers in black) or their own bad stretch.

Actually, teams put out schedules when they will be wearing the different jerseys now.

Anyway, my hunch -- and it's just a hunch -- is that the home jerseys will remain brown, but will be tweaked to look more like the new road jerseys. They'll work in a little orange to go with the brown.
The vast majority of us will be happy, and the years of threads we've had on this issue will gradually draw to a close. *
On a couple of other subjects raised in this thread:
-- On the road jerseys, the stripe down the side works for me. The brown balances the orange numerals. Also, if they are going to wear all white on the road -- and I'm finally warming up to that, after years of not digging it -- the stripe helps avoid a "Casper the Ghost" look.
-- I don't think college football is the place for third jerseys. There aren't enough home games, particularly in the MAC.
-- Oh, and looking above at that photo. Thank goodness they choked that chicken!

* Oh, sure, some well-intentioned and God-fearing -- but hopelessly misguided and tasteless -- fans will occasionally suggest going back to all-orange at home. But brown appears to be winning the day. It's a color we have virtually to ourselves. It is the traditional football color here. Why not own it?
my guess as to what will happen is this: the brown jerseys will be here for a few more years, then go away to be replaced by something else. most of us will be happy with that too and another round of threads like this will appear. we dont have a good record of sticking with jerseys lately. we'll have a new coach, or marketing team that says plain brown pop-warner jerseys don't make the school look as ... for lack of a better term... good as it could (which i agere with) browns fans and hardcore traditionalists will be upset, it will pass.
maybe its just me...but these jerseys...and the 02 era orange jerseys too... look like the jerseys from "the water boy" meant to show in the movie the school is poor and doesn't really care about the football team...then they get good and have new, fancy jerseys. don't take that example lightly...costume people for these movies know exactly how to help the story though clothing.... only with us its on a national (when its on tv) level and im left...once again...explaining why we're wearing the browns uniforms and making bets that they took em from us to a volley of "whatever man, you guys just ripped em off" from non bg students
