Tailgate

Post by wkuchazzy »

Hello, Falcon fans!

We Topper fans would like to invite any & all of you to stop by the Big Red tailgate tent - somewhere in the east parking lot on Saturday afternoon ... wherever they can find space to set up.

We're new to this whole 1 A football thing, so for now just trying to make our small presence known at the road games and soaking up the atmosphere along the way.

No idea what kind of game we'll give you this week, but we've been competitive so far ... even moved the ball against Florida in the Swamp for awhile.

If you get a chance, stop by and say hi and share a cold (adult?) beverage or two. Not sure what to expect from the Tailgate Police in your area?

Nothing to worry about at our tailgate related to adult beverages.
I think we have one of the most fan friendly tailgates I have been to.

People typically walk freely between tailgates carrying cans and bottles of beer (others use cups, which is probably the preferred method). Lots of corn hole being played is pretty typical. My tailgate area usually features several games of survivor flip cup during the day and we are supposed to have a beer pong table on hand this weekend.

The athletic department even sends a guy around in a golf cart to pass out garbage bags to everyone in an attempts to keep things pretty clean.

Thanx for the info ... now will feel much less worried walking around with a Stella Artois keg strapped to my back.

wkuchazzy: See this thread: http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/phpBB2/v ... hp?t=17376

Check out the map that hammb posted. It shows where a bunch of us tailgate (#1 on the map) at every home game! Stop by and say hi!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I've never seen a single issue with someone tailgating. I've seen keg stands, beer pong, flipcup, shotgunning, public urination, and a lot of other things I could have went without seeing.

Unless your threatening a cop with a broken bottle, you can just about do anything you want while tailgating at BG.Also, dont' be afraid to strike up a conversation with any fans you see. A repeating fact from most fans to visit say we have some of the most courteous fans.

If you do come upon any problems, here's a good phrase: "Amstutz is fat."

Fanatic ... saw that thread and noticed the reference to the "big hill on the golf course". Will look for that locale on Saturday.

Looking forward to the trip up from Columbus. I'm a former Findlay resident from years ago, so have a soft spot for that part of the state.

If you are walking around with a keg of Stella on your back, you don't have to worry about security, you need to worry about me and the wife trailing you all day! :-D

We discovered Stella last year and it is our FAVORITE, mutually agreed upon beverage when buying a "family 12 pack". Of course her range is lighter and mine darker but this one just works for us. Plus it's been around since 1366 so it has to be good.

Hope you enjoy the northern Bowling Green wkuchazzy....

wkuchazzy,

Hope to meet you Sat! We really are a friendly bunch and hopefully nobody gives you and the other WKU fans a difficult time. As far as the BiG hill on the golf course, there is no way you can miss that. LOL!!! It's the only hill around. Right by I 75.

You'll have a good time...stop by our area and grab a grilled stadium brat with Cleveland Stadium mustard and a piece of Falcon Cheesecake. :supz: :tonqe:

GO FALCONS!!!

I've got 15 pounds of pork shoulder to put on tomorrow evening and smoke. I've also going to have a large pan of baked beans. H2O said he'd bring cole slaw. So we'll have pulled pork sandwiches, beans, slaw, and there will be plenty for everyone. Stop on by and grab some eats :)

We ALWAYS have tons of food & beer...it's what we do best :)

I know man, I saw you up in the stands during the game, then never made it over to say hello. Hopefully you'll make it up for another one sometime.

Stella Artois

Post by The Niz »

The Soft Rock Cafe, and now Campus Polleyeys, both carry Stella Artois on Draught. Just had Polleyes for lunch today and figured I had to mention this.
Yeah right girl!

Oorah!
