Old Falcon Flag

Post by vwfalcon »

Saturday marked the last time ever that the "LT" falcon flag will be run out with the team. I have been informed by a pretty reliable source that falcon fans will soon be able to bid on this item in the online auctions. I understand that it is the old logo, but for some of you diehards it would make one heck of a tailgate item.

I kind of hope the orange jerseys will be next on the auction block.

The fact that it is the old logo makes it about 100x more valuable to me. Unfortunately it will go for far more than I can afford :( I'd love to have it though!

Just a thought, and I am serious about this even if it does sound a little far fetched...but what about AZZ members going in together on it to try and win the auction? It could be added as a regular part of the AZZ area tailgate and would put the flag in the possession of some of the most loyal BG football fans.
I'm just thinking out loud, and maybe it's just a silly thought, but I'd be willing to pledge a chunk toward the cause.

I would be willing to make my own meager little contribution.

I thought if we could get enough interest, we could find someone to place bids and send them the money ahead of time so they don't have to worry about fronting the funds and collecting later. If we're lucky enough to win the auction and have a little left over, it could go to Grant as a donation to the site. Even if we didn't win the auction, I'd be willing to let Grant keep whatever amount I pledged anyway to go toward site costs.

Aw, that's so sad! :( I was so excited to see the flag, I was hoping that they would continue to use it throughout the year. But if they aren't, I think the next best thing would definitely be for the AZZers to have it!
