Despite the ranking, we are far from a perfect team. We have not played very well of late and were lucky to beat Army and UMass. So, this game will be a huge challenge for us.

The big problem we have is the lack of a running game. When you run the ball close to 40 times against a Div 1AA team, 125 yards is inevitable - not special. The reality is we have three very average running backs. Callendar is Ok in the passing game, but is not much of a speed threat. Whitworth is slow and has trouble finding holes. Brooks is a fumbler and a major liability in the passing game. Overall, we could not get 300 yards against a team of girl scouts.

Th other problem we have is our pass defense is terrible. So far, teams have been able to throw at will if they have a decent QB. We got lucky against NC State as their QB is terrible. GT did not try to throw much, which was fortunate.

The strength of the team is Matt Ryan. But, he seems to be regressing. Maybe it is the hype going to his head. He can carry the team by himself and tends to get it together when needed. Lately, the offense has been terrible, but we are hoping it turns around quick.

The other strength is the run defense. We stop everyone.

Anyway, I hope this gives you some perspective.

I predict (hope) BC 35 BGSU 27

No schit. They're over from the scout board, I imagine. Scout.com is where cannibalism is status quo.

I went off coils when I discovered they make lousy contraceptives. Anyhow, looking at this week's Top 25 games, Bowling Green over Boston C sounds far more headline worthy than Syracuse over W Virginia, and since 35-27 sounds good to me, I say Boston College 27-35 BGSU.

FWIW, I'm about as big of a BC nut as you're going to find and I'm pretty familiar with most of the BC board/s poster/s (sad, I know).

I've never heard of this OJ character. Not so say that he's not legit, but I really have never come across him on any other board....just sayin'.

I think it's going to be a great weekend for football teams from Ohio against football teams from Boston.

Falcons win big, 38 - 21.

Browns win by same score.

Alright, time for my homer pick...which you guys all did so I won't feel that bad doing it :)

I know we've told you that the BC passing D isn't very good, but keep in mind that if you keep opponents to 50 yards rushing / game, they're going to try to get the ball down the field SOMEhow. MANY / MOST of those yards are on short passes that are reminiscent of Philly Eagles "running" game. We DO have a guy back there named Tribble who was the defensive player of the nation in week one and a first-round NFL pick. It's not AWFUL, it's just not terrific, especially when compared to the run D....which has been lights out.

I think Bowling Green will score in BC, but I also think we'll force several turnovers. I think that the UMass game got Jags an opportunity to rip our guys a new one about not playing to the level they should be.

That being said, I have zero doubt that BGSU will come out fired up and upset minded. No doubt about it, BC has a big 'ol bullseye on our back.

My prediction: BGSU hangs early, playing great on both sides of the ball. Both teams score, and BC will either have a small lead / game will be tied at halftime.

At that point, [homer] BC comes out and executes in the 2nd half and as BC gets a lead, forces BGSU to be more aggressive and this leads to turnovers which BC capitalizes on. Big day for both QB's, but Ryan's stats lead the headline.

Final score: BC 41, BGSU 24

That's a fair pick, BCMike. BG has been very good about protecting the ball. Matter of fact, BG is 5th in the nation in TO ratio. But, if we start coughing up the ball or throwing picks, we'll be in trouble.

I'm sure it will be a hard hitting, physical game.

It's that part about coming out in the 2nd half that I'm worried about. Which BGSU team shows up to play the second half?

I'm not ready to prognosticate just yet....

Bowling Green 48

Boston College 8

1.4% chance BC scores more than 12 points.

5.9% chance Matt Ryan throws for a TD.
