I'll be there with (hopefully) two other BG grads. If you can't find a place to park on the street in downtown Oxford, there is a garage behind the Qdoba/Cold Stone, across from the Holiday Inn. If you go downtown first and find a place to park, you usually can't leave your car because the meters go until 6 pm Saturday and they max out at 2 hours. The good news is parking tickets are cheap in Oxford.
Miami usually sets up a little tailgate town with music where you can buy burgers and dogs if you don't feel like cooking. Beer is tolerated, if not welcome, in the parking areas.
See you there!
GO BG!

Hey! Aren't you supposed to be producing some show right now? What are you doing scouring the Internet right now?RobbyFalcon wrote:I'll be there with (hopefully) two other BG grads. Keep in mind though that if you are on campus/in town the BG ticket office generally gets tickets for away games the Monday before. It looks good to bowls and is good for BG if they can sell more of their 'visitor allotment' rather than have BG purchase walk-up tickets which will be attributed to Miami's attendance figure.Falconfreak90 wrote:137,Falcon137 wrote:For those of you who are going where are your seats (if you've gotten them yet)?
We'll just walk up and buy them. If Miami loses tomorrow at Kent, I'm sure there will be plenty of tix available.

I'm not sure if I'll be there or not. I'll definitely be at Kent State on the 20th, but the Miami game I'm not sure if I'm going to make the trip or not. It might depend on whether Svillefalcon wants to come along, because I'm not going the 6 hour round trip alone. Preliminary indications are that he's out, so I'll have to find somebody else if I'm going to make the trip.

The Visitors are typically placed in Section 1 and 2. General Admission will put you in the east or north stands. The East stands is where Miami students (and the Miami Band - Section 17) sit and where the best concessions are located.froggyvk wrote:What section is the BG section? How much are tickets through the University? Myself and a handful or two other students are thinking about making the trip.
Mrs Tech and I and of course Mini Me (Nicholas) will be at the game. Sam has to work.
Instead of starting a new thread - I will post this here...... Miami has created a new pre-game area this year located north of the stadium. They are calling it Tailgate Town. I have yet to visit it this year - but I think its what they use to hold up the hill in front of Miletti Hall. Lots of kids games and food. This is not a dedicated tailgate area.
I know the Tech's will be looking up PGY to help balance the level of orange at his tailgate
You will hear BG referred to as the "pumpkin heads". Tradition is for Miami to bust pumpkins in their locker room if they beat us. So here's to saving a few pumpkins this year.

This is a nice tradition... one that merits a response on our part.Tech83 wrote:You will hear BG referred to as the "pumpkin heads". Tradition is for Miami to bust pumpkins in their locker room if they beat us. So here's to saving a few pumpkins this year.
Considering our record in this series -- 19-39-5 -- I guess I'm not that surprised we haven't come up with one.
Any ideas?

The Freaklings don't have school Friday and I took the day off. Dana can leave work by 11 am so we should be pulling into the Oxford area no later than 4. We have reservations at Hueston Woods and will be doing some hiking and other things.
Question for a BG tailgate area....where can we set up shop so we have a BiG ole orange group? I haven't been to a game there since 2000 and would like to hit the tailgate area by 11:30-Noon.
Weather looks perfect for mid fall...sunny and 65.
Any help on the best tailgate area for BG fans would be appreciated...BiG game this week. GO FALCONS!!!! BEAT MIAMI!
