No, I mean secure, period. Even if he loses today, of all days.
+1 I'm not an excuse maker but we are terribly young and terribly injured. Tom won't get an extension but he's not in trouble. Yet. Our
Frosh QB has completed all but 1 pass. Two completed to Liberty but , hey!

Amstutz saves his job. Whew!

And Rollo- that is the best Amstutz line I've seen in awhile. :-D

I dont think the fatman is nearly as secure as most people. I think the general lack of discipline on and off the field is catching up to him because the talent level has dropped off....he's taken too many chances on marginal kids that blew out. There's problems off the filed ith discipline...there's problems on the field wih discipline...exqctly how is this guy earning his paycheck?

He should be feeling the heat...you have a guy with a criminal past who lists his occupation as "gambler" telling the media that he bought your players groceries and hung out with them to get information to aid him in betting on games...and that's the positive spin on that story...I'm sorry, but being fat, jolly and moderately successful for a few years doesn't get you the political capital needed to overcome that kind of shitstorm.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I'm not the world's biggest Amstutz fan but he's been "moderately succesful" for a looooong time, not a few years. Without going back and checking all the records I feel confident in saying he was the architect of some pretty fine defensive teams for years as DC, was chosen to go with Pinkel to BCS Missouri and has a pretty good record as HC.

Agree about some marginal kids but name a coach outside maybe the Ivy League who hasn't recruited some. Not sure anybody would have called Scooter Mc "marginal" coming out of high school.

On field discipline-BIGGGGG problem and if he ever gets sunk it will likely be that that sinks him. Fortunately he has the JacobsforHeisman safety net should he get fired, although I'd hate to see him in orange. Giant pumpkin comes to mind.
