I, as a future Gamecock (but forever a falcon!!!!) am going to need some tissues. I wanted Urban Meyer in there SOOOOO BAD! I HATE Spurrier and have lost 50% of my interest in going to games next year.
I hpoe that the "agreement in terms" has to wait a year while Lou sticks around, and then he can talk Urban into coming...but it's not looking good.
Oh well...maybe he'll do horrible and get the boot in a couple years like the NFL.

BUT...he shouldn't go into a Florida or Michigan where expectations are so high....tha'ts not his style and if he pulls a Ron Zook and does "okay" then he's out on his ass. I want him to go somewhere that he can build and grow a program to top notch, not try to sustain a top notch program.BGSUfanatUT wrote:i honestly wouldnt hold your breathe. When Urban steps up to a big time program, it wont be USC. And I dotn blame him, as hot as he is, and as good as he is, south carolina isnt good enough for him, no offense.

Not that I give any weight to what
Trev Alberts
has to say, but on SportsCenter last night he said Meyer will be the next coach at Florida. Mark May did bring up the interesting point tha nobody knows what kind of recruiter Meyer is. He has won with the players in the program and hasn't stayed long enough to have to win with his recruits.

but if you look at the current BGSU squad, you know he recruits talent, he's just never coached his own talent. But clearly he can recruit, based on our success. Also, I think kids hear Urban Meyer, adn want to play for him. That will help him a lot too.

It's Official
Lou announced this morning to the team that he wouldn't be back next year. This sucks, i hate Steve Spurrier, but damnit, he better bring an SEC championship next year. he's got a GREAT team, they just need to be utilized right. They were two plays frombeating Georgia and Ol' Miss, and being in the SEC championship.

I guess Lou can move back to South Bend and breath deeply in the back of Ty's post game press conferences.
My real intrest is in knowing if he'll keep his USC outfit and hat on the cover of his book, or if they start printing it with the ND outfit.
I'm not certain Urban is going to wind up at Florida, not that I question he's on the top of the list. Florida fans are like Marshall fans, they aren't dealing with reality well. UF will eat another coach or two unless they really do work an amazing turn-around.
On the other hand Spurrier being at USC might mean UF fans just give up and wait for their doom.
