Not that it means much if this is the BG team we'll see the rest of the year (from the bits and pieces I was able to gather on the radio stream), but Temple scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth to beat the Zips 24-20.

MAC = crazy

I was watching this game closely online and I'm glad Temple pulled it out. The MAC East is anybodys game for the taking, including BG!

As much as I wanna agree with that, I think we all know where this is headed. Remember GB is still our HC. Us taking the East Title would require the hand of God to intervene.

You know, I was listening to you in the chat thread, and I'm reading your writing, and I'm just sick of it. Two weeks ago, everybody thought the sky was the limit. Now that same sky is falling. We all need to step back and remember that things are never as good or as bad as they seem. The bottom line is, if we win next week, we're right back in the hunt. On any given Saturday, anything can happen. A team can either be really good or really bad any given week. This week we were really bad. Next week could be completely different.

And for those of you killing Greg Brandon, I agree that this loss today is almost entirely on the coaching staff. But where were you all two weeks ago? You all (except for maybe Hammb and Jacobs4heisman) were singing his praises. I highly doubt GB forgot how to coach in two weeks (cue the jokes if you must). It's annoying to see an entire message board change its tune from "potential mac coach of the year" to "fire the coach, he's an idiot" in a week's time.

I'm going to Kent State next week as I planned all along. And if we win, I'll be ecstatic. If we lose, oh well, we'll go after the Bobkittens.

The only way I can see BG winning the East is this...Our offense scores 50 a game because we can't stop anyone...Insert a QB that doesnt stand like stone in the pocket....Do the one thing where our QB hands the ball to another guy in the backfield with him, whats that called again? Sound doable?

Seriously I dont see Miami losing 2 East games. Based on thier performance today, I don't see them losing to Temple, or Buffalo. So that leaves a home date with Akron and a rivalry game at OU.

If BG can get their sh!t together they still have a shot. They can beat OU and Akron at home. At Buffalo will be tough as odd as that sounds. Perhaps I'm being a tad optamistic but this season should not be thrown away. While next week is important, in the grand scheme of things they just need to get back on track next week @ Kent and get it going in the right direction.

Winning the East unlikely, yes.
Improbable, no.

You said it dude. It takes alot more guts to support the team through the lean weeks and just forget about bad games rather than just turning on them after everyone was so happy go-lucky two weeks ago. Today when I watched the game, I was pissed. It was not fun wearing my orange as we got beat down and everyone watched me sulk. It's hardly going to keep me from watching/traveling to every remaining game though.

I still support the team 100%. I'm just resigned to the notion that we're not going to be all that good under the current regime.

Even after today, I'm still uber-pumped to head up to Kent for the game next week. We could lose 100-0 every game and that's not going to change.

I'm surprised you don't notice the "ebb and flow" of this message board.

Those who support GB the past several weeks were vocal. Those who do not support him, were not vocal. I'm still not sold on GB being the head coach and I have been a staunch critic since the middle of the 2004 season. This week, the detractors will be more vocal and the supporters will be less so.

Not many people switched sides. I know I have not.

I won't ever stop supporting this team either. I've only missed like one home game in the past 5-6 years, and I should make it to all of them this year. It's not a matter of supporting the team, at least not for me.

Like J4H said, I've just grown to accept the fact that this current coaching staff is not that good, and we're not going to develop into a good team under this group. I know I have certainly not wavered on this stance one bit. Personally, my stance hasn't wavered much since the NIU game of '04.

I'll admit that after the first couple games this year I thought maybe we were a little bit better than I anticipated. I was hoping beyond hope that perhaps the coordinators of the previous years were holding us back and we were able to show some improvement this year. I think the last 2 weeks have shown that was not the case.

I'll be at all the games, but I'm not going to delude myself into thinking this is a good team anymore. Yeah, I suppose we're not completely out of it and the season isn't over yet, but we're not in real good shape. I just want to know how you don't have your team ready to play your most important game of the season thus far. To go into Oxford and lay an egg like that should be nothing short of embarrassing.

I still support him. I just don't see the need to vocalize my support for him right now. I can do that by attending the rest of the games and cheering for the Falcons. I'm not oblivious to the fact that he just coached one of his worst games of his career. However, I do think he's done a pretty good job this year other than that. I just hope he comes up with a much better effort in the rest of the season against MAC East teams.

I'm still in for what its worth. The MAC is going to beat up on itself for the rest of the season, and BG won't be the only squad to face disappointment.

Its Miami, as RUIP painfully reminds us. Toledo comes, Toledo goes. Miami is a lifetime pain in the ass. Miami is not a rival. If only. Miami is the ultimate sports nemesis. Miami probably suspends practice for the week ahead of their games with us. Working eastward, Miami is like Toledo, Pittsburgh, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Denver rolled into one.

All that said, BGSU is BGSU, and if that means life without parole, so be it.

I am not qualified to comment on coaching, but, as has been pointed out elsewhere, Brandon has actually beaten Miami, which is unfortunately becoming something of a landmark achievement.

While we're at it, I predicted a 62 point game. Well, the points went the wrong way, and Miami made sure it was 61 points, no doubt just to show they can. They even wear the same colour red as Liverpool. Talk about head games.
