Post Game Quotes

BGSU head coach Gregg Brandon
Opening Statement
"That was one of the most embarrassing games I have ever coached in. I'm going to bust my butt to not let that ever happen again. For all Falcons and everybody that loves BG, that's not who we are. Somewhere down the line we have lost our confidence. We are going to have a gut check week"

Were you shocked by how ineffective BGSU's offense and defense was?
"I have no explanation right now and I am not going to make stuff either. We were playing a huge rival MAC East game and had a lot ridding on it, and we were not even close."

"We have to show up with a lot more heart and a lot more fight to overcome some adversity, which we did not do today."

It seemed like Miami had a good game plan
"I thought Miami did a nice job. I don't think they did anything defensively that we had not seen, there was a lack of execution on our part. That stuff is going to happen and you have to be able to fight through that. We have six days to get that fixed."

How physical was Miami today?
"I thought their offensive line did a good job. They knocked us off the ball. I will give them credit. They did not come in as a juggernaut offensively and they handled us today. We have to take a look at that."

BGSU junior linebacker John Haneline
"They were a physical team. They try to impose their will on you and they did a very good job of that today. This is another humbling experience. We have to regroup, work hard in practice and prepare."

With them being so physical did it affect the defenses play in the second half?
"Early on we were looking around at each other and did not make the plays when we needed. And that seemed to continue through the rest of the game."

BGSU junior wide receiver Corey Partridge
What did Miami do to slow down the passing game?
"They did a real nice job of getting their hands on the receivers and not letting us get down the field. They really did not do anything that we have not seen all year, we just did not execute. That is something we have to work on."
Does it frustrate the offense when you just don't seem to be able to get anything going? "It is defiantly frustrating. At the beginning of the year it seemed like we could go down the field at will, but these last two weeks have been frustrating, especially when we work so hard in practice.

Do you feel defenses can key on the pass so much with the lack of a running game?
"It has to help a little bit since they can drop into pass coverages quicker, but if you didn't know after the first game we were going to throw the ball every play something is wrong with you. It is a lot on us. Miami's defense played great, but there is something wrong with our offense and that is something we need to work on."

I'll tell you what's wrong with our offense, coach, since you can't seem to figure out.

IT'S ONE-GOD-DAMN-DIMENSIONAL!!!!

I thought this was almost poetic.

I still am stunned by what happened yesterday. I cannot for the life of me explain what we saw.

I'm in disbelief.

That was a truly awful experience to sit part of the way through...we like talk about halftime adjustments a lot on this board...the adjustments you make during the season are justas important, if not more so. teams have figured us out...they know our blocking schemes so they know where to blitz and when to blitz. They know we aren't committed to the running game at all, so they freely drop 5-6 guys into coverage and dare us to squeeze one in there. We aren't showing them anything new...at least that's my perspective on it.

While Miami seemed to know what we were going to do before we even snapped the ball, we didn't seem to have a clue re their game plan. Their o-lone opened some HUGE holes and their QB had no troubkle at all solving our coverage schemes.

We seemed utterly clueless out there....that has to be laid at the feet of the coaches.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

WOW! Those quotes just maybe more disturbing than what we saw on the field by BG. I don't know what else to say , utterly disturbing. :smt100

Just more excuses. Show it on the field and I'll buy all this rhetoric.
